Position summary
As a Global Future Leader in this role, you will act as a Sustainability Strategy Market Intelligence Analyst within Lenovo's Services and Solutions Group, helping shape the future of Lenovo's sustainability services portfolio through market intelligence, strategic analysis, and business insights. The role focuses on identifying market opportunities, analyzing competitive and sustainability trends, and providing actionable insights that inform portfolio and business decisions. This is a foundational entry role for early-career professionals interested in strategy, product management, sustainability, and business leadership, reporting to the Sustainability Services Portfolio Product Director.

This role provides the market and competitive intelligence that shapes Lenovo's sustainability services portfolio. By researching sustainability, ESG, and circular economy trends and translating them into business cases and executive-ready recommendations, the analyst helps inform portfolio investments, growth initiatives, and new solution development across SSG.
Key responsibilities
- Market intelligence: Conduct research to identify industry trends, customer needs, emerging technologies, and sustainability-related market opportunities.
- Competitive analysis: Evaluate market positioning, competitor offerings, pricing strategies, and industry developments.
- Decision support: Support product managers and business leaders with research, business insights, and data-driven recommendations.
- Business cases: Develop business cases, market assessments, and opportunity analyses to support portfolio investments, growth initiatives, and new solution development.
- Communication: Create executive-ready presentations, reports, and recommendations that translate complex information into clear business insights.
- Cross-functional projects: Partner with cross-functional teams on strategic projects related to portfolio expansion, innovation, sustainability services, and market growth, and monitor market, technology, AI, and sustainability trends.
Team and stakeholders
The role reports to the Sustainability Services Portfolio Product Director and collaborates with Sustainability, Product Management, Strategy, Innovation, Business Operations, and Sales teams, with exposure to business reviews, strategic planning, and portfolio development.
Key details
- Program: Lenovo Global Future Leaders Program, with cross-functional rotational experiences, leadership development, and mentorship over the first three years.
- Travel: Approximately 10 to 20 percent.
- Hiring timeline (North America, Fall 2026): Applications September 1 to October 23; assessments and interviews September to November (final interviews at Lenovo's Morrisville, NC campus, November 12 to 13); offers in December; onboarding Spring/Summer 2027.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Analytics, Data Science, Sustainability, Economics, Engineering, Technology Management, or a related field (completing or recently completed).
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills, able to structure ambiguous business questions.
- Experience conducting research, market analysis, competitive intelligence, consulting projects, or business case development (via internships, academic projects, or professional experience).
- Strong written and verbal communication, synthesizing findings into executive-friendly recommendations, and the ability to work across teams and manage multiple priorities.
- Nice to have: MBA or relevant Master's; internship/work experience in consulting, strategy, product management, sustainability, or market intelligence; knowledge of sustainability trends, ESG frameworks, or circular economy; and data tools such as Power BI, Tableau, SQL, or Python.
