Position summary
LSEG is hiring a Sustainability Risk Senior Manager to help develop its approach to sustainability risk across the Group. Working within the second line of defence, the role provides independent oversight of sustainability risks and supports a consistent approach to identifying, assessing and monitoring risk, working closely with Risk, Sustainability and the business to embed sustainability considerations into decision-making, governance and risk management.
Why this role matters
Sustainability risk is an increasingly important area for LSEG and plays a key role in supporting long-term business resilience and responsible growth. This is an opportunity to influence how sustainability risk evolves within a global financial markets organisation and to contribute to a risk framework that adapts to changing expectations, regulations and business priorities.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain and improve the sustainability risk framework by developing LSEG’s sustainability risk guidance, taxonomy and methodologies, defining risk drivers and oversight expectations, and embedding sustainability risk into enterprise risk management while keeping an independent view.
- Provide independent review and challenge by reviewing first-line risk assessments, controls, mitigation plans and reporting, and identifying common themes, interconnected risks and emerging concerns across divisions.
- Support risk appetite, reporting and insight by developing risk appetite measures, tolerances and key risk indicators, monitoring exposures, and producing reporting for management, governance forums and Board committees.
- Assess emerging risk and provide strategic support by monitoring trends and regulatory developments, contributing expertise to pivotal initiatives, acquisitions, new products and change programmes, and supporting scenario analysis and stress-testing.
- Drive governance and collaboration by partnering with Group Sustainability, divisional risk teams and business stakeholders, and delivering guidance, training and practical risk advice.
- Support external reporting and disclosure by providing independent input into sustainability disclosures, reviewing materiality assessments, and assessing alignment between commitments, risk appetite and the Group’s sustainability risk profile.
Team and stakeholders
The role sits in the second line of defence and partners with Group Sustainability, divisional risk teams, business stakeholders and governance forums, communicating complex risk topics to senior leaders and Board committees.
