Position summary
Mars, Incorporated is seeking a Sustainability Reporting Senior Manager to support the Sustainability Reporting Director in preparing for and complying with global, mandatory reporting requirements, including defining processes, identifying controls, and leading certain activity reporting. The role is the subject matter expert for the development, maintenance, and evaluation of the Sustainability Reporting for Finance framework and its supporting documentation, ensuring the company's ongoing adherence to global regulations and mandatory reporting. It carries significant project management responsibilities to roll out initiatives on time and escalate challenges promptly.

Key responsibilities
- CSRD readiness: Treat CSRD reporting as a high priority in the first year, while progressing other areas needed to meet voluntary and regulatory reporting requirements.
- Controls development: Develop controls within the Sustainability Controls Implementation (SCI) program across each relevant Environment, Social, and Governance area required by reporting.
- Coordination: Coordinate across all owners and SMEs to ensure governance, control, and high-quality data for sustainability reporting.
- Reporting calendar: Develop and manage the reporting calendar and coordinate reporting requirements across functions.
- Gaps and remediation: Support identification of potential gaps and provide remediation guidance and tracking.
Team and stakeholders
You will support the Sustainability Reporting Director and interact with associates throughout the business, primarily partnering with the Sustainability team, Public Affairs, Corporate Controllership, the Segments, and MGS to ensure awareness and compliance.

- Compensation: Base pay range of $134,400 to $184,800 for all US locations listed in the posting, with the actual offer varying by job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline (for example Accounting, Finance, Business, or Sustainability) required; an MS or MBA is a plus and a CPA is preferred.
- 8+ years of experience in accounting, finance, IT, sustainability, or risk and control roles, with at least 3+ years practicing the relevant technical knowledge and skills.
- Experience with a privately owned, global, decentralized organization.
- Experience in Big 4 public accounting, CPG, manufacturing, or service-based industries.
- Experience with sustainability reporting processes and controls, including opportunities for automation and standardization.
- Experience with one or several of: CSRD, CDP, ISSB, EU Taxonomy, COSO, and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX).
- Strong functional, technical, and analytical skills with attention to detail, the ability to influence without authority, and strong organizational and project management skills for a global initiative.
