Job Description

Position summary

JBS is seeking a Sustainability Manager to lead key aspects of the company’s sustainability reporting and disclosure program. The role plays a central part in helping the company meet emerging reporting requirements and communicate sustainability performance to investors, customers, lenders, and other stakeholders, leading major components of the annual reporting cycle and coordinating reporting activities across global business functions.

Why this role matters

As sustainability disclosure regulation tightens worldwide, JBS needs accurate, well-controlled reporting it can stand behind with investors, customers, lenders, and regulators. This role owns the processes, data quality, and controls that make that reporting credible, moving comfortably between technical reporting topics and practical project management.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead sustainability reporting by planning, developing, reviewing, and publishing annual sustainability, ESG, and non-financial reports, with accountability for defined workstreams and deliverables.
  • Manage the reporting cycle through integrated calendars, workplans, dependencies, review cycles, and escalation protocols, keeping alignment across reports, regulatory filings, questionnaires, and ratings submissions.
  • Track and apply regulation by monitoring emerging sustainability reporting standards and supporting readiness for IFRS Sustainability Disclosure Standards, CSRD/ESRS, CSDDD, California climate disclosure requirements, and other obligations.
  • Build governance and controls by developing reporting processes, methodologies, governance documentation, and disclosure controls, and coordinating gap assessments, roadmaps, and remediation through closure.
  • Handle stakeholder disclosures by ensuring timely, quality responses to customer questionnaires, surveys, audits, and investor, lender, and ratings-agency requests, and maintaining approved response libraries and data packs.
  • Lead cross-functional programs by running working sessions, clarifying accountabilities, anticipating delivery risks, and driving commitments to completion across a global, decentralized organization.
  • Drive improvement by developing policies, procedures, training, and change-management materials and implementing improvements to efficiency, accuracy, auditability, transparency, and scalability.

Team and stakeholders

This role reports to the Head of Sustainability within the Sustainability department and works closely with Finance, Accounting, Legal, Compliance, Risk Management, Internal Audit, Investor Relations, Communications, IT, operating businesses, and external assurance providers.
