Position summary


As part of the Sustainability Data Assurance & Auditing Team, you will play a key role in shaping and delivering Diageo's sustainability digitisation roadmap. As Diageo collects increasing volumes of sustainability data across the business and its network of more than 30,000 suppliers, you will help ensure the digital products, systems, and processes needed to meet evolving ESG reporting requirements (including CSRD and UK SRS) are in place, supporting accurate, auditable data, robust controls, and meaningful insights. The primary purpose is to manage and enhance sustainability systems, strengthen digital capabilities, and simplify ways of working.

This role underpins the integrity and scalability of Diageo's sustainability data as regulatory demands grow. By leading digitisation of sustainability systems, automating data quality checks, and building analytics and reporting, the Lead ensures Diageo can meet evolving ESG reporting requirements with accurate, auditable data and deliver on its Spirit of Progress goals.


Key responsibilities


  • Microsoft Sustainability Manager: Lead the business coordination and continuous improvement of Microsoft Sustainability Manager, ensuring reporting requirements, data quality, process standardisation, and stakeholder alignment, and driving analytics, reporting automation, and insights.
  • Regulatory readiness: Partner with Sustainability SMEs, reporting teams, Digital and Transformation teams, and external vendors to deliver readiness for CSRD and other evolving ESG reporting requirements.
  • Indicators and analytics: Own business requirements and implementation of new sustainability indicators across systems including Microsoft Sustainability Manager and Enablon, developing advanced dashboards, reporting, and predictive analytics.
  • Data quality: Lead the design and implementation of automated data quality checks, strengthening accuracy, auditability, and control of sustainability metrics.
  • Standards: Develop and maintain global standards for sustainability reporting, including verification and reconciliation processes, supporting systems integration and simplification.
  • Digital strategy: Own and maintain the Sustainability Digital Strategy roadmap, prioritising initiatives by business value, regulatory commitments, and strategic objectives.

The role sits in the Global Sustainability Data Assurance & Auditing Team and partners with Sustainability SMEs, reporting teams, Digital and Transformation teams, and external vendors.

Requirements:


  • A degree in Business, Sustainability, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.
  • Experience working within sustainability, with an understanding of digital sustainability strategies and transformation.
  • Experience across cross-functional programmes and teams in a global environment.
  • Strong communication and influencing skills to bring stakeholders on board with change.
  • Highly analytical, with strong attention to detail and the ability to develop robust processes and controls.
  • Experience collaborating with remote teams across cultures, and experience using sustainability systems such as Microsoft Sustainability Manager, Enablon, Sitka, or Altruistiq.
