Position summary

Boston Consulting Group is hiring a Sustainability Data & Analytics Manager to lead the operational, analytical, and technical foundations of its internal sustainability measurement systems. Supporting BCG's industry-leading net zero commitment, the role ensures data quality, consistent methodologies, and actionable insights across the firm's global GHG emissions data and reporting.

Owning the single source of truth for the firm's internal emissions data, and turning it into reliable dashboards and audit-ready reporting, is what allows BCG to meet its reporting obligations and steer its carbon reduction program with confidence.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee emissions data systems by providing day-to-day management of BCG's internal GHG emissions data, reporting systems, and analytical products.
• Enhance data pipelines by partnering with data engineering teams to improve automation and evolve the sustainability data architecture.
• Write technical specifications by reviewing data models and overseeing code quality for sustainability data pipelines and dashboards.
• Ensure data governance by maintaining quality assurance and a reliable single source of truth end-to-end.
• Build reporting tools by developing monthly dashboards and analytics that support carbon reduction insights and the annual carbon footprint calculation.
• Line manage a Senior Analyst by providing coaching, direction, and growth opportunities, and coordinating the external audit of GHG emissions data.

Team and stakeholders

The role reports to the Sustainability Director for Measurement and Reporting, line manages a Sustainability Senior Analyst, and collaborates with the Reduce Team pillar, Data Tribe, Data Platform and Products teams, technical partners, regional stakeholders, and external vendors.

Key details

• Based in Gurgaon, India, or the United Kingdom.
• Expected to work from a BCG office or in person with clients around 50% of working time.
• Supports BCG's net zero commitment and annual carbon footprint and external audit processes.
• Manages one Sustainability Senior Analyst.

Requirements

Essential

• 6+ years of experience in analytics, data engineering, BI, or related technical operational roles, ideally in a sustainability context.
• Hands-on experience with modern data stack tools such as Snowflake, DBT, and Airflow.
• Strong SQL and Python fluency and advanced data visualization skills (Tableau, PowerBI).
• Experience writing technical specifications, reviewing code or data models, and supporting engineering workflows.
• Demonstrated ability to lead projects and manage stakeholders at all levels.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and strong project management skills.

Preferred

• Exposure to BCG systems (SAP, Workday, ChromeRiver).
• Knowledge of JIRA or similar project management tools.
• Knowledge of GHG accounting principles and assurance procedures.
• Familiarity with Agile principles and practices.
• Advanced Excel or statistical analysis skills.
