Position summary
GE Vernova is seeking a Sustainability AI Leader to drive the end-to-end digitalization of all sustainability processes across its Electrification segment, deploying artificial intelligence, advanced analytics, and digital solutions to transform sustainability reporting, planning, and decision-making. Coordinating with GE Vernova HQ and Electrification Digital Technology teams, the role deploys the Electrification Sustainability Long-Term Strategy (LTS) for digitalization and AI, defines the technology roadmap, aligns priorities across business lines, and integrates digital capabilities into sustainability workflows. A core deliverable is a 30 percent productivity improvement and a net positive impact on cost structure by removing administrative and non-value-added tasks from sustainability reporting through automation, AI-powered tools, and intelligent process design.

Key responsibilities
- Digitalization leadership: Lead the end-to-end digitalization of sustainability processes across Electrification, defining and executing the transformation roadmap for reporting, planning, and performance management.
- Strategy deployment: Deploy and operationalize the Electrification Sustainability Long-Term Strategy for digitalization and AI, translating strategic objectives into actionable initiatives with clear milestones and KPIs.
- Cross-org alignment: Coordinate with GE Vernova HQ and Electrification Digital Technology teams on digital strategy, shared platforms, data standards, and AI governance.
- AI solutions: Develop and deliver AI-powered systems, applications, and digital tools that create measurable value, including predictive analytics, automated reporting, and decision-support platforms.
- Productivity target: Drive the 30 percent productivity improvement by designing and implementing automation that eliminates administrative and non-value-added tasks from reporting and compliance workflows.
- Data architecture: Design and implement scalable data architectures, pipelines, and AI/ML models that underpin sustainability analytics, forecasting, and scenario planning.
- Cross-functional partnerships: Build and lead partnerships with Finance, Digital, Operations, and Supply Chain teams to integrate digital sustainability solutions into enterprise systems and business processes.
- Governance: Establish governance frameworks, quality standards, and best practices for AI and digital sustainability tools, ensuring scalability, auditability, and regulatory compliance.
Team and stakeholders
You will coordinate with GE Vernova HQ and Electrification Digital Technology teams and build cross-functional partnerships with Finance, Digital, Operations, and Supply Chain teams. The role also requires influencing senior leadership to drive adoption of digital solutions across diverse, globally matrixed teams.
Key details
- Compensation: Gross annual salary between €72,000 and €108,000, with the specific offer reflecting education, qualifications, experience, and skills.
- Bonus: Eligible for the Variable-AIP annual bonus plan, with a target incentive of 15 percent of annual base salary.
- Level: Management level SPB; the position falls under the applicable Metalworking National Collective Bargaining Agreement.
- Work arrangement: Flexible working of up to 10 days per month for eligible roles.

Requirements:
- Advanced degree (master's or PhD preferred) in AI/Machine Learning, Data Science, Computer Science, Sustainability, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
- Significant progressive experience in digital transformation, AI deployment, sustainability technology leadership, or related roles, with demonstrated impact at enterprise scale.
- Proven track record developing and deploying AI/ML solutions, digital platforms, and automation tools that deliver measurable business outcomes such as productivity, cost reduction, and process efficiency.
- Experience coordinating across global matrixed organizations, including HQ functions, business units, and cross-functional digital teams; familiarity with the Electrification segment and GE Vernova structures preferred.
- Strong understanding of sustainability metrics and reporting frameworks (EU Taxonomy, CSRD, GRI, TCFD), with the ability to translate sustainability requirements into digital and AI solution specifications.
- Very good communication and stakeholder management skills in a global, matrixed environment, with the ability to influence senior leadership and drive adoption of digital solutions.
