Position summary

Amazon's Global Procurement Sustainability (GPS) team, part of the Global Procurement Organization (GPO), is hiring a leader to architect and lead its external engagement strategy at scale. This executive-facing role positions procurement as a lever for systemic change, connecting Amazon's four GPS pillars (Supplier Development & Impact, Community Impact, Social Responsibility & Human Rights, and Environment) to a global ecosystem of stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Lead engagement strategy by designing and executing a global responsible-procurement engagement strategy with governance, communication and reporting frameworks.
• Drive external impact by translating data into narratives, executive briefings and stakeholder outputs across all four GPS pillars.
• Build strategic partnerships with governments, NGOs, corporate partners, academic institutions and industry alliances.
• Influence policy as a key liaison to Government Affairs on economic inclusion, responsible sourcing and sustainable procurement standards.
• Lead activations including supplier summits, policy roundtables and industry forums with clear impact measurement.
• Align cross-functionally across GPS pillars and internal teams for consistent messaging and integrated delivery.

Team and stakeholders

Sits within the Strategic Engagement & Partnerships function of GPS (part of GPO), working across suppliers, governments, industry alliances, NGOs, academic institutions and internal teams including Government Affairs.

Key details

• Salary varies by location, from $77,200 to $115,800 (Nashville) up to $85,800 to $128,600 (Houston, Arlington, Bellevue), plus sign-on payments and RSUs.

Requirements

Essential

• 3+ years of program or project management experience.
• 3+ years working cross-functionally with tech and non-tech teams.
• 3+ years defining and implementing process-improvement initiatives using data and metrics.
• 2+ years of supply chain experience.
• Bachelor's degree.
• Advanced Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs) and SQL.
• Experience defining program requirements and using data and metrics to determine improvements.

Preferred

• 3+ years driving end-to-end delivery and communicating results to senior leadership.
• 3+ years driving process improvements.
• Experience in stakeholder management across varied organisational levels.
• Experience building processes, project management and schedules.
