Position summary

ASML, the semiconductor industry innovation leader, is hiring a Strategy Manager, Environmental Sustainability in Veldhoven to help drive its ESG ambitions. The role focuses on ASML's Energy Efficiency & Climate Action and Circular Economy themes, building longer-term strategies, roadmaps, and execution plans as the company works toward a greenhouse-gas-neutral value chain by 2040 and zero waste to landfill and incineration by 2030.

Why this role matters

Semiconductor manufacturing is energy- and resource-intensive, so ASML's climate and circularity targets demand a step change from past reductions. Maturing the strategy, KPI framework, and roadmaps behind both themes, and embedding them across the business, is what turns ambitious target years into tangible cuts in emissions and waste across a complex value chain.

Key responsibilities

• Mature the climate and circular vision by co-leading work on strategic and material topics and the KPI framework for both themes.
• Implement transition plans by ensuring the Climate Transition Plan is well-implemented and developing an equivalent plan for circular economy.
• Develop strategic roadmaps by identifying improvement opportunities and driving initiatives across emission categories and waste streams.
• Embed with the business by collaborating with Sector and Business Line stakeholders to prioritize and detail opportunities to reduce emissions and waste.
• Maintain policies by updating and managing environmental sustainability policies.

Team and stakeholders

The role sits in the ESG Sustainability Strategy team, works closely with the Program Management team and business stakeholders across engineering, operations, sales, and supply chain up to senior leadership, and reports to the Team Lead on Environmental Sustainability Strategy.

Key details

• Based in Veldhoven, Netherlands; on-site, full time, with around 10% travel.
• Focus on Energy Efficiency & Climate Action and Circular Economy themes, with 2040 GHG-neutral and 2030 zero-waste targets.
• Requires access to controlled technology under US Export Administration Regulations; candidates must be legally authorized to access it.

Requirements

• 10+ years of relevant experience in sustainability, climate, or circular economy strategy, preferably in a corporate, technology-related environment, with a consulting background.
• Relevant academic degree, e.g. Sustainability Management, Strategic Management, or Science and Technology Studies.
• Demonstrated success developing and delivering sustainability, climate, and circularity strategies, programs, and partnerships.
• Experience working with diverse stakeholders from engineers and operations to senior leadership.
• Systems thinker with strong business sense, delivery capability, and communication skills.
• Sustainability strategy consulting background is a plus; advanced English skills.
