Position summary

Systemiq, the system change company and a certified B Corp, is hiring an Associate for its Nature & Food platform, based hybrid from its London office. The role supports high-impact projects accelerating the transition to more sustainable, resilient and inclusive food and land-use systems, spanning regenerative agriculture, food systems transformation, biodiversity, land use, nature finance and sustainable value chains.

This role helps governments, businesses, financial institutions, philanthropies and civil society develop practical, evidence-based solutions to complex food and nature challenges.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver projects through high-quality research, analysis and synthesis, developing presentations, reports and workshop materials.
• Translate evidence into clear insights and practical recommendations, supporting project planning and delivery.
• Advance nature and food systems work across regenerative agriculture, biodiversity, land use, nature finance and sustainable value chains, applying systems thinking.
• Engage stakeholders by supporting client meetings, workshops, interviews and multi-stakeholder engagements.
• Contribute to the team through business development, proposal writing and thought leadership.
• Use AI responsibly to strengthen research, analysis and communication while ensuring robust, accurate outputs.

Team and stakeholders

Part of Systemiq's Nature & Food platform, working alongside colleagues across Europe and internationally, and with clients across business, government, finance, philanthropy and civil society.

Key details

• Full-time, hybrid via the London office; preferred start 1 November with some flexibility to mid-November.
• Candidates must have the legal right to work in the UK; applications in English.

Requirements

Essential

• Master's degree or equivalent in environmental science, agriculture, sustainability, economics, public policy, international development or a related discipline.
• Approximately 1 to 3 years' experience in strategy consulting, sustainability consulting, international development, research or another analytical, project-based environment.
• Strong analytical, research and structured problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills, able to synthesise qualitative and quantitative evidence into clear recommendations.
• Interest in one or more of food systems, regenerative agriculture, biodiversity, land use, climate, nature finance or sustainable value chains.
• Practical experience using AI tools to support research, analysis or drafting, with sound judgement on their use.
• Strong organisation, project management, communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred

• Experience working across multiple countries or cultures.
• Knowledge of European or other sustainability policy or food systems.
• Experience supporting multi-stakeholder initiatives or partnerships.
• Additional European language(s).
