Position summary

Sealed Air is hiring an EHS & Sustainability Lead at its Ashland, Ohio site, reporting to the SHEQ Manager. The role partners with site leadership and employees to ensure compliance with Environmental, Health, Safety and Sustainability requirements while supporting a Zero Harm culture, leading EHS and sustainability programs that improve safety, environmental stewardship and resource efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Lead health and safety by strengthening the Zero Harm culture, running Safety Gemba Walks, and tracking near misses, corrective actions and machine-guarding compliance.
• Ensure EHS compliance with local, state, federal and corporate requirements, supporting audits, incident investigations and root cause analysis.
• Lead site sustainability initiatives aligned with corporate ESG objectives and annual improvement plans.
• Track sustainability metrics across energy, water, waste, recycling and greenhouse gas emissions, and lead waste reduction and landfill diversion projects.
• Support environmental compliance across waste, air emissions, wastewater and chemical management, including permitting and regulatory reporting.
• Manage data and reporting by collecting and validating environmental data and preparing reports, scorecards and KPI dashboards.

Team and stakeholders

Reports to the SHEQ Manager and partners with Operations, Engineering, Maintenance and Procurement teams, plus contractors and site employees.

Requirements

Essential

• High school diploma required.
• 3 to 5 years of experience in EHS, environmental or sustainability roles within a manufacturing environment.
• Experience supporting safety programs and regulatory compliance.
• Knowledge of OSHA and environmental regulations, environmental and occupational health & safety management systems, and EHS data/KPI reporting.

Preferred

• Bachelor's degree in environmental science, engineering, occupational health & safety, industrial engineering, chemistry or a related technical discipline.
• Experience participating in continuous improvement and sustainability projects.
• Familiarity with sustainability principles, waste reduction, recycling and resource conservation.
