Position summary

Bureau Veritas is hiring a Senior Sustainability Consultant (Environmental Management) for its growing Sustainability team, based in London with flexibility across Manchester, Birmingham or Bristol. The role takes ownership of high-profile environmental management projects, combining technical expertise, client management and project leadership to help organisations improve environmental performance and achieve compliance.

Key responsibilities

• Lead project delivery of environmental management and sustainability projects from inception to completion.
• Manage client relationships as a trusted advisor on environmental and sustainability matters.
• Provide technical leadership across project teams, reviewing deliverables for quality and consistency.
• Advise on compliance by interpreting environmental legislation and best practice.
• Support strategy and systems by helping clients develop and implement environmental management strategies and systems.
• Drive growth and mentoring by contributing to proposals and business development and developing junior consultants.

Requirements

• Proven experience delivering environmental management consultancy projects.
• Strong knowledge of UK environmental legislation, compliance requirements and sustainability best practice.
• Experience managing clients and delivering projects within budget and timescale.
• Ability to interpret complex environmental issues and provide practical, commercially focused solutions.
• Experience supporting business development and proposal preparation.
• Strong stakeholder engagement, analytical, problem-solving and project management skills.
• High-quality report writing and presentation skills, and previous experience with ISO 14001 requirements.
• A relevant degree or equivalent professional experience; professional membership with a recognised environmental or sustainability institution is advantageous.
