Position summary

Workiva is hiring a Senior Solution Consultant - Sustainability to partner with sales and internal stakeholders on technical customer requirements for Workiva’s platform. The role goes beyond traditional pre-sales, taking end-to-end accountability for technical outcomes across a territory as a Strategic Platform Advisor, bridging complex business transformation with advanced data architectures, ecosystem integrations, and practical AI applications, with solution discovery spanning Workiva’s core areas including Financial Reporting, GRC, and Sustainability.

Key responsibilities

• Lead technically on sales opportunities for integration and data management within and around the Workiva platform, serving as the primary technical partner for enterprise opportunities.
• Bridge technical and business needs by facilitating IT conversations on the platform’s fit within a customer’s technology ecosystem and partnering with Regional Sales Directors to determine customer challenges and requirements.
• Design customized solutions that reinvent customers’ finance and reporting processes, adapting custom demos with other Solution Consultants.
• Conduct discovery and value presentations across Workiva’s core solutions, including Financial Reporting, GRC, and Sustainability.
• Drive territory and pipeline with Sales, building hypothesis-driven engagement plans, inspecting qualification gates, and identifying high-value expansion opportunities.
• Build business cases that articulate Workiva’s value and ROI, and guide enterprise IT, architecture, and line-of-business leaders on modernizing data management.
• Support customer success and partners through smooth onboarding and joint customer initiatives, and mentor and train other team members.

Team and stakeholders

You will partner with Regional Sales Directors, Solution Consultants, customer support teams, Workiva business partners, and senior customer teams across IT, architecture, finance, and line-of-business functions.

Key details

This is a full-time role available remotely in Sweden or from the Copenhagen or Amsterdam offices, with up to 30% travel for customer and internal meetings. Reliable internet access is required for remote work.

Requirements

Essential

• 6+ years of related experience in pre-sales/solution consulting or management consulting (e.g. Big 4 or equivalent), with a background in solution consulting, technical sales, or solution delivery.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred, or equivalent practical experience.

Preferred

• Deep domain knowledge of sustainability and ESG reporting frameworks (CSRD/ESRS, GRI, ISSB, TCFD, EU Taxonomy) and carbon accounting across Scope 1, 2, and 3 under the GHG Protocol.
• Experience preparing and delivering software presentations/demos, or implementing complex software platforms (ERPs, BI tools, financial performance management applications such as Hyperion or OneStream).
• Highly commercial mindset with the ability to influence customer decisions and contribute to sales strategies.
• Strong leadership and client-facing consulting skills, with the ability to distill complex technical topics into business-value explanations.
• Understanding of finance and accounting processes, and the ability to position modern data strategies, enterprise integrations, and practical AI applications.
