Job Description
Position summary
Kraft Heinz is hiring a Senior Manager, Global Sustainability - Scope 3 to be the subject-matter expert for agriculture decarbonization across its global footprint. You will own, evolve, and manage the strategic oversight of the company’s approach to reducing Scope 3 emissions in agriculture, the largest lever in its climate strategy, working hand in hand with the climate and nature risk expert to marry decarbonization with supply chain resilience across the procurement organisation.
Why this role matters
Agricultural Scope 3 emissions are the biggest single lever in Kraft Heinz’s path to its Science Based Targets. This role sets the global strategy and gives regional teams the methodologies and tools to scale on-the-ground interventions, while ensuring the data behind it is accurate and audit-ready for regulated disclosure.
Key responsibilities
- Own the global agriculture decarbonization strategy by defining the direction, frameworks, and interventions needed to achieve global SBTi targets across agricultural supply chains, including portfolio assessments, trade-off analyses, and risk evaluations.
- Enable regional execution by acting as the primary strategic partner to zones and regional teams, providing the toolkits, methodologies, SOPs, and technical guidance to scale interventions such as regenerative agriculture, low-carbon fertilizer pilots, and methane reduction.
- Lead governance and change management across regions, establishing corporate governance rituals, running steering committees, and implementing agile ways of working to align global commitments with regional realities.
- Collaborate with procurement and suppliers to align Supplier Guiding Principles, supplier selection, and commercial terms with climate targets, and build supplier capability programs for upstream carbon reduction.
- Ensure data rigor and reporting by working with data, R&D, and controllership teams on accurate, auditable primary data and robust inputs for voluntary and regulated disclosures (CSRD, CDP, corporate sustainability reports).
- Engage externally by representing the company in sustainability initiatives, coalitions, and multi-stakeholder platforms, and monitoring the legislative, NGO, and competitive landscape for best-in-class climate innovations.
Team and stakeholders
Sitting within the Procurement team, you will partner with the climate and nature risk expert, zones and regional teams, Global Procurement, suppliers, and data, R&D, and controllership teams, influencing senior leadership and cross-functional teams without direct reporting authority.
Key details
This is a full-time role based in Amsterdam with a hybrid working model, including reimbursement for commuting costs and discounts on health insurance and gym membership.
Requirements
- Years of relevant corporate sustainability experience, with a proven track record dedicated to Scope 3 accounting and agricultural emissions reduction.
- Deep knowledge of agricultural greenhouse gas accounting protocols (including GHG Protocol Land Sector and Removals Guidance, SBTi FLAG standards) and life cycle assessment methodologies.
- Experience developing and managing regenerative agriculture projects and supply chain decarbonization levers in FMCG.
- Exceptional ability to build relationships and get things done through others across a matrixed, international organization, influencing senior leadership and regional teams without direct authority.
- Proven ability to translate complex scientific and regulatory climate concepts into clear, actionable business strategies and operational toolkits.
- Outstanding written, verbal, and presentation skills, delivering board-ready strategies with a high level of autonomy.
