Your impact:

As a (Senior) Manager ESG / Sustainability (m/f/d), you will advise clients on current topics in the transaction context, strategy development, and implementation – thus contributing to the implementation of legal ESG requirements and increasing corporate social responsibility.

Project management: You plan and manage (sub-)projects in the context of complex M&A transactions or carve-outs with a focus on ESG issues.
Analysis: In addition, you will conduct ESG materiality analyses, due diligence (within overarching investment processes), and ESG portfolio assessments.
Consulting: In your projects, you will advise clients on the development of sustainability strategies and the implementation of measures, taking existing processes into account.
Communication: As part of your role, you will be the contact person for the management level of our clients, such as industrial corporations, banks, and private equity firms.
Perspective: Together with experts from the Deloitte network, you will not only work on projects but also continuously expand our Sustainability Service Offerings.

Your skillset:

Excellent degree in economics, environmental sciences, engineering or comparable, preferably with a doctorate or MBA
At least five years of professional experience in ESG/Sustainability, e.g., with an investor, an M&A consultancy, or an ESG rating agency
Good knowledge of common standards (GRI, SASB, UN PRI, UN CG,…), regulatory provisions (CSRD, EU Taxonomy, Supply Chain Act,…) and current developments in the ESG field
Sound business administration know-how , interest in strategic and operational issues, e.g. M&A, business models, process optimization or value creation
An affinity for numbers , a confident use of MS Office and a desire for challenging projects in interdisciplinary teams, high level of commitment, personal responsibility and an agile, goal-oriented approach to work
Willingness to travel and enjoyment of communication and presentation in German and English (very good written and spoken)
