Position summary
JLL is seeking a Senior Analyst for its global Energy & Sustainability research team, bringing deep knowledge of energy markets and the energy transition to analyze how shifts in energy supply, infrastructure, and policy are reshaping commercial real estate investment and operations. Working closely with JLL's Energy Advisory and Sustainability teams, this role translates energy market intelligence into actionable insights for investors and occupiers. It leads research projects spanning energy transition and sustainability trends globally, with a primary focus on the Americas.

Key responsibilities
Grid and reliability: Monitor grid infrastructure developments, capacity constraints, and reliability trends, and assess their implications for real estate energy strategy and occupier decision-making.
Emerging technologies: Track emerging energy technologies, including small modular reactors, geothermal, long-duration storage, and demand flexibility, and evaluate their impact on real estate energy procurement and operations.
Advisory partnership: Serve as a key research point of contact for JLL's Energy Advisory and Sustainability teams, partnering on strategic client deliverables and insight pieces.
Market narratives: Monitor renewable energy pipelines, energy policy, carbon markets, and regulatory developments to build timely, data-driven narratives on energy transition trends.
Thought leadership: Partner with the research team and sustainability leaders on bespoke data analysis and research that advances JLL's thought leadership on the energy transition.
National decks: Establish and regularly update national decks across key Americas markets covering the energy transition.
Recurring outputs: Synthesize energy and sustainability developments into recurring outputs such as talking points, newsletters, and slide decks that keep business leads and clients current.
Client deliverables: Produce bespoke, project-specific client deliverables and content for business leads, partnering with local market researchers to support active pitches and transactions.
Strategic collaboration: Work closely with sustainability research regional leads and the broader Insights team to shape strategic research objectives and execute bespoke research for pitches and presentations.
Team and stakeholders
You will report to the Global Research Director, Energy & Sustainability, and work within JLL Research, a global team of more than 570 professionals. You will partner closely with JLL's Energy Advisory and Sustainability teams, sustainability research regional leads, the broader Insights team, local market researchers, and business leads across different business lines and property sectors.

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in energy, environmental studies, economics, finance, or a related field.
- Two to five years of experience in energy markets, energy transition, or sustainability research.
- Working knowledge of US energy market structures, renewable energy development, energy procurement, and decarbonization strategies.
- Familiarity with carbon markets, emissions accounting frameworks, or energy policy and regulatory developments.
- Strong quantitative skills, with the ability to identify insights and trends through data analysis.
- Excellent command of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
- Comfort with AI tools and a proactive mindset toward optimizing research workflows.
- Strong written and oral communication skills, able to translate complex energy topics for real estate investor and occupier audiences.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a dynamic environment with senior stakeholders.
- A collaborative working style, able to operate both independently and within a cross-functional team.
