Position summary

BCG is seeking a Senior Analyst, BCG Vantage on its Client Focus path within the Energy and Climate & Sustainability Practice Areas, working in a growing global team to deliver value to clients through individual expertise and institutionalized BCG Vantage assets such as tools, data, frameworks, and workshops. You will contribute relevant analysis and insight to client cases and proposals at the interface of BCG's Energy and Climate & Sustainability practices, with a focus that may include the energy transition, energy infrastructure, electrification, decarbonization, energy and climate policy, and industrial policy. Client work is expected to be primarily linked to the German market, with occasional support for regional and global teams.

By formulating research and analysis, equipping case teams with expertise and proprietary assets, and building intellectual property, you help clients navigate decarbonization, electrification, and energy policy, and strengthen BCG's capabilities in the field.

Key responsibilities

• Case and proposal contribution: Contribute relevant analysis and insights to client cases and proposals, helping case teams create strong impact.
• Commercialization support: Support commercialization for the topic or sector, contributing analysis and insight to proposals, client workshops, and marketing materials alongside business leaders.
• Intellectual property: Contribute to developing intellectual property and assets for the business.
• Onboarding and training: Assist in onboarding and training junior colleagues based on your topic and sector expertise.
• Problem solving: Solve client problems by formulating relevant research and analytical approaches in energy and climate sectors and related technologies.
• Onsite client service: Travel occasionally to serve clients onsite during staffing assignments, to understand requirements and design and develop solutions.

Team and stakeholders

As a Senior Analyst, BCG Vantage on the Client Focus path, you will work face to face with clients and alongside BCG Project Leaders, Associates, and Consultants. Between cases, you will collaborate with global topic leads and colleagues across BCG to bring expertise and capabilities to internal and external clients.

Key details

• Locations: Frankfurt, Düsseldorf, or München.
• Travel: Occasional travel to serve clients onsite during staffing assignments.
• Ways of working: AI-native, with day-to-day use of tools such as Claude and ChatGPT expected.
• Work authorization: BCG is an E-Verify employer.

Requirements:

• 2+ years of consulting experience in energy and climate required; candidates with consulting experience strongly preferred.
• In lieu of consulting experience, a minimum of 3+ years of industry experience is required, with 4 to 6+ years strongly preferred.
• Bachelor's degree required (advanced degree preferred).
• Fluency in German and English.
• Strong business acumen and problem-solving capabilities.
• AI-native, with day-to-day work using Claude and ChatGPT expected.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a virtual, agile group dynamic while navigating complexity and ambiguity.
