Position summary
Epiroc is hiring a Safety, Sustainability and Sourcing Coordinator for its UK & Ireland business, based in Hemel Hempstead. The role drives health, safety, environmental, and sustainability initiatives across the region while coordinating indirect sourcing activities, supporting compliance, and leading improvement projects as part of Epiroc's mission to accelerate the transition to more sustainable mining and construction industries.

Key responsibilities
- Drive sustainability activities by developing systematic work environment and sustainability initiatives across the UK & Ireland business.
- Ensure compliance with legal requirements, company guidelines, and ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 standards.
- Support operations through audits, risk assessments, incident management, and preventive work.
- Build competence by delivering training and promoting a positive safety and sustainability culture.
- Lead improvement projects related to safety, work environment, and sustainability.
- Coordinate sourcing by managing indirect purchases (facility management, fleet, office services, equipment, maintenance, consultancy), monitoring supplier expenditure, and ensuring sourcing aligns with Epiroc's values and Code of Conduct.
Team and stakeholders
The role works across functions, locations, and levels of the UK & Ireland business, with colleagues, customers, and suppliers, reporting to the Safety, Sustainability and Sourcing Regional Manager.
Key details
- Based in Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire; hybrid working with part-time home working.
- Travel within the UK, with occasional travel to Northern Europe.

Requirements
- At least 5 years' experience in health & safety, environmental management, and sustainability.
- Good knowledge of UK health and safety legislation and systematic work environment management.
- Experience with ISO 9001, 14001, and 45001 standards.
- Experience leading projects and driving continuous improvement in an operational business.
- Excellent organisational, multi-tasking, and communication skills, with strong IT skills and a full UK driving licence.
- A relevant post-secondary qualification in Health & Safety, Sustainability, or a related field preferred; NEBOSH Diploma, IOSH, and ISEP membership advantageous.
