Position summary

ENGIE is hiring a Renewables (CPPA) Originator in Leeds, within its Supply & Energy Management business. The role originates, structures and closes Corporate Power Purchase Agreements and Biomethane Purchase Agreements, helping major industrial and commercial customers take meaningful steps toward Net Zero.

Key responsibilities

• Drive origination strategy by developing and executing ENGIE's Corporate PPA strategy and building a high-quality pipeline of large commercial opportunities.
• Lead complex negotiations from first engagement to contract execution, managing multi-million-pound deals with senior stakeholders.
• Advise on decarbonisation by helping customers understand how Corporate PPAs fit their Net Zero, ESG and Scope 2 strategies.
• Structure commercial solutions that meet customer sustainability objectives while delivering value for ENGIE.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Trading, Risk, Legal, Finance and Supply to deliver robust, compliant agreements.
• Represent and mentor by attending industry events and mentoring sales team members on renewable products.

Team and stakeholders

Sits within Trading / Portfolio Management (Supply & Energy Management), collaborating with Trading, Risk, Legal, Finance, Supply and sustainability experts, and engaging large industrial and commercial customers.

Key details

• Hybrid working from the Leeds office; covers UK-wide activity with some European tenders and global customer engagement.
• A senior individual-contributor role with commercial ownership across origination, advisory, deal structuring and market development.

Requirements

• Proven experience in renewable energy origination, energy supply sales or structured energy transactions.
• Strong knowledge of Corporate PPA structures, UK electricity markets and renewable mechanisms such as REGOs, CfDs and ROCs.
• Demonstrated ability to negotiate and close complex, long-term commercial contracts.
• Experience engaging large industrial and commercial energy consumers on decarbonisation.
• Strong financial modelling skills and confident commercial risk assessment.
• Excellent communication and influencing skills across procurement, finance and executive stakeholders.
• A degree in a relevant discipline, or equivalent professional experience, is preferred.
