Position summary

Amazon is looking for an Environmental Audit Program Manager to support AWS in the EMEA region, joining the AWS Environmental team that is critical to enabling AWS's growth while ensuring regulatory compliance and the highest-level environmental performance of its data center operations. This role requires a highly skilled professional to manage complex, ambiguous audit initiatives across organizational boundaries, leading regional audits, influencing stakeholders, and working independently while balancing short- and long-term needs, mitigating risks, and delivering simplified solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Leadership: Support the Environmental Audit program to evolve with organizational needs, stakeholder expectations, and environmental challenges, collaborating with the wider EMEA environmental team, operations leaders, and top management.
• Risk management: Support the ongoing identification and assessment of environmental risks across AWS global operations and develop strategic plans to address significant risks and opportunities.
• Implementation: Oversee the design and deployment of the audit program to enhance environmental performance and ensure compliance, and lead audit training and awareness programs.
• Performance evaluation: Establish and manage a robust system for monitoring, measuring, and reporting audit program performance, conduct internal audits of the EMS and regulatory compliance, and present performance reports and recommendations to top management.
• Continual improvement: Drive ongoing enhancement of the audit program, leading management reviews, corrective and preventive actions, and innovative approaches to improve environmental performance.

Team and stakeholders

You will join the AWS Environmental team and collaborate across the wider EMEA environmental team, operations leaders, and top management, presenting to senior leadership.

Requirements:

• Experience in project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, and risk and critical-path management.
• Experience managing programs across cross-functional teams, building processes, and coordinating release schedules.
• Experience building and evaluating system-level technical design.
• Experience in environmental compliance and permitting, waste management, contractual, regulatory, and liability assessments, environmental permit evaluations and applications, EIAs, and water discharge requirements.
• Preferred: fluency in French, Spanish, German, or Italian.
