Position summary


This is a technical role focused mostly on sustainability projects across the Franklin facility, including analyzing opportunities, identifying ideas, defining scope, securing funding, and managing implementation. The sustainability projects target three main areas, water conservation and recycling, energy usage reduction, and waste generation, touching Facilities & Utilities, Processing, and Packaging.

This role delivers the on-the-ground engineering behind L'Oréal for the Future at a manufacturing site. By identifying and executing water, energy, and waste projects, you help the Franklin facility cut its environmental footprint while supporting L'Oréal's broader sustainability commitments.


Key responsibilities


  • Loss mapping: Manage site water and energy loss maps, understanding the main opportunities to improve.
  • Project pipeline: Define the projects pipeline, feasibility studies, and justification required ahead of implementation.
  • Scope and funding: Own scope definition, cost estimate, funding strategy, and execution.
  • Contractor management: Manage contractors on the projects, ensuring safety, quality, and delivery of the required scope.
  • End-to-end execution: Own end-to-end project execution from conception to turnover to operations or facilities, including validation.
  • SHE and systems: Support L'Oréal's safety, health, and environmental programs and maintain effective record systems.


Team and stakeholders


You will report to the Operational Excellence AVP and work with the site's Facilities & Utilities, Processing, and Packaging teams, plus contractors and the operations/facilities teams.


Key details


  • Compensation: $65,400 to $91,500.

Requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.
  • 1 to 3 years of experience with utilities systems, bulk manufacturing processes, and/or chemical engineering operations.
  • Technical knowledge of utilities systems such as water, steam, and HVAC desirable.
  • Capable of managing medium-to-large capital investments.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities, with strong people management, problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills.
