Position summary


Willdan Energy Company is seeking an experienced Program Manager to work closely with Willdan leadership to design, plan, and execute initiatives that reduce energy consumption, optimize resources, promote sustainable practices, and serve under-resourced communities. Responsibilities include leading program implementation, reporting, budgeting, coordination, client and stakeholder engagement, and data analysis, while monitoring program effectiveness and delegating to subject matter experts and program staff.

Key responsibilities


  • Program management: Develop, implement, and manage one or more energy efficiency programs, collaborating with leadership to establish goals, timelines, and budgets.
  • Team leadership: Provide guidance and support to program staff and interns, manage staff, delegate to subject matter experts, and assist in hiring and training, fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment.
  • Coordination: Coordinate with internal teams, external vendors, and stakeholders to ensure smooth program execution.
  • Research: Conduct research to identify emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in energy efficiency.
  • Data and reporting: Collect, analyze, and interpret data on energy consumption, savings, and performance, and prepare reports, presentations, and dashboards for management, stakeholders, and clients.
  • Stakeholder engagement: Foster relationships with state agencies, utility providers, Regional Energy Networks, industry partners, and community organizations, identify collaboration and funding opportunities, and represent the organization at meetings, conferences, and industry events.
  • Continuous improvement: Identify areas for improvement and recommend strategies to enhance program efficiency and effectiveness.


Team and stakeholders


The role works with Willdan leadership, program staff and interns, subject matter experts, internal teams, external vendors, and stakeholders including state agencies, utility providers, Regional Energy Networks, industry partners, and community organizations.


Requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree in environmental science, engineering, business administration, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive, relevant experience in energy efficiency.
  • Previous experience leading the implementation of direct installation programs in one or more of: heat pump water heaters, heat pump and natural gas HVAC, lighting, refrigeration, and food service measures.
  • Knowledge and experience implementing deemed and custom energy efficiency measures in the MA or NH market.
  • Strong analytical skills to collect, analyze, and interpret data for decision-making and optimization.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, and demonstrated stakeholder engagement, relationship management, and cross-functional collaboration.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, data analysis tools, and project management software.
  • Knowledge of energy efficiency regulations, policies, and standards at local, state, and federal levels.
