Position summary
The Product Manager - Sustainability contributes to the development and execution of product direction within utilities by applying intermediate knowledge of product management principles, company processes, and customer needs. The role creates value by transforming building energy and utility data into sustainability outcomes, participating in strategic and operational product activities and ensuring alignment between customer requirements, cross-functional partners, and the product roadmap, including on moderately complex challenges such as Building Performance Standards and ESG metric verification.

Key responsibilities
- Strategy input: Support long-term product strategy and vision through analysis, research, and input based on customer feedback, market trends, and internal priorities.
- Value and metrics: Contribute to product value statements, performance metrics, and feedback loops to monitor customer satisfaction.
- Market validation: Participate in market validation for released epics, including customer conversations, interviews, and research.
- Backlog: Assist in defining and prioritizing the product backlog in alignment with broader strategy, and draft epics, user stories, and detailed requirements.
- Roadmap support: Prepare materials, articulate findings, and offer recommendations for roadmap discussions, and support go-to-market with Product, Engineering, Marketing, Sales, and Services.
- Enablement: Provide product information and training to Sales and Services, and review feature requests for viability, scope, and alignment.
- AI-augmented delivery: Leverage AI tooling, structured multi-step prompting, and workflow automation to enhance research, drafting, analysis, and throughput, and evaluate AI outputs for drift, hallucinations, bias, or inefficiencies.
Team and stakeholders
The role collaborates across Product, Engineering, Marketing, Sales, and Services, supporting delivery of product updates and go-to-market activities.

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 2 years of related experience, or a relevant advanced degree, or equivalent work experience; 2+ years in product management or related roles within software.
- Intermediate understanding of product management principles, customer needs, and company processes, with the ability to handle moderately complex product tasks.
- Strong written and verbal communication and collaborative problem-solving skills.
- Advanced AI proficiency: sophisticated multi-step prompting, context engineering, working knowledge of transformer-based LLM architectures (attention, tokenization, context windows, RAG, failure modes), workflow automation with LLMs/agents, tool/API/vector-database integration, and critical evaluation of AI outputs.
- Demonstrated track record of using AI to significantly improve efficiency, throughput, or quality.
- Willingness to travel domestically for client meetings, industry events, and company gatherings.
