Job Description

Position summary

As Procurement ESG Data & Responsible Sourcing Specialist, you will support and drive the responsible sourcing agenda within Procurement while ensuring robust ESG data management, reporting, and compliance. You will collect, maintain, validate, and analyze supplier and sustainability data that enables informed decision-making and supports external reporting, working closely with Procurement and Sustainability teams to contribute to a more sustainable value chain.

Why this role matters

This role turns supplier data into a more traceable, responsible value chain for a major dairy cooperative. By maintaining traceability and certification data, validating supplier emissions, and preparing CSRD and ESG reporting, the Specialist supports FrieslandCampina's commitments on human rights, zero deforestation, and climate action across its commodities.

Key responsibilities

  • Responsible sourcing data: Compile, maintain, and improve traceability datasets across key commodities, manage certification data (RSPO, RTRS, and others), maintain the supplier grievance case tracker, support category teams in supplier data collection, and prepare inputs for KPI measurement and reporting.
  • ESG data and analytics: Maintain and validate supplier emission data and ensure accurate uploads into reporting systems, support development of dashboards covering end-to-end emissions and marginal abatement curves, contribute to EcoVadis data integration and supplier ESG risk profiling, and identify opportunities for improved data quality and automation.
  • ESG reporting and compliance: Prepare monthly CSRD reporting inputs and quarterly Procurement ESG dashboards, coordinate customer sustainability data requests, provide inputs for the Annual Report, ensure timely and transparent ESG data consolidation, and support internal and external audits with audit-ready reporting.
  • Tools and process improvement: Support the implementation and optimization of supplier collaboration tools, explore report automation and process improvement, and contribute to internal ESG communication initiatives.

Team and stakeholders

The role is part of the six-person Procurement ESG team (split across responsible sourcing & data and value-chain decarbonization), reports to the ESG Procurement Director, and works closely with category procurement and corporate sustainability teams.

Key details

  • Work arrangement: Hybrid, with flexible working hours and a 38-hour work week.
  • Compensation: €3,900 to €5,500 gross per month (full-time), plus a 5% year-end allowance, 10% bonus, 8% holiday allowance, and pension; 200 hours of annual leave (with buy/sell option) and a train card or mileage allowance.

Requirements:

  • 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in procurement, sustainability, ESG, supply chain, or consulting.
  • Strong understanding of ESG frameworks and requirements, including CSRD, Scope 3 emissions, responsible sourcing, and certification schemes.
  • Strong analytical and data management skills, with advanced Excel and Power BI, and experience with large datasets, reporting tools, and data models.
  • A structured, detail-oriented approach focused on data quality and accuracy.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and collaboration, a proactive hands-on mentality with a continuous improvement mindset, and strong communication skills to translate data into actionable insights.
  • Fluent in English (written and verbal).
