Position summary
L'Oréal's Sustainable Finance Direction is recruiting a Global Operations ESG Controller, responsible for proactively controlling Operations sustainability performance and managing on-time, qualitative, and exhaustive Group ESG reporting. Reporting to the Sustainable Finance Director, you will support Métiers Operations and Finance Operations communities to reach ESG reporting excellence, with a strong focus on internal control and performance management, ensuring investments and resources are allocated accurately to reach the Group's sustainability targets.

By driving extra-financial reporting excellence and internal control across Operations, you help the Group deliver on its L'Oréal for the Future ambitions and meet evolving ESG regulation.
Key responsibilities
- Extra-financial reporting: Lead Finance Operations and Métiers Operations teams on extra-financial reporting, consolidate and control reporting quality across the full scope, and manage the extra-financial month-end process and monthly indicator reviews.
- Standards and audit: Ensure respect of Group guidelines, methodologies, and best practices, and support local teams with year-end external audit and Group internal audit requirements.
- Continuous improvement: Work on ad hoc projects to improve internal controls, accuracy, and efficiency of the centralised reporting process.
- Performance steering: Follow and steer short- and mid-term Operations extra-financial performance, and anticipate, manage, and communicate risks and opportunities.
- Planning alignment: Align Operations Sustainability and Finance Operations teams on common topics (such as CAPEX analysis and roadmap consistency) during budget and 3-year plan processes.
- Community and projects: Animate Métiers and Finance Operations communities on reporting culture and evolving extra-financial regulation, and participate in L'Oréal for the Future and sustainability projects, while future-proofing and simplifying processes.
Team and stakeholders
You will report to the Global Operations Sustainable Finance Director (animated by Group Environment) and business partner with Métiers Operations (Packaging, Sourcing, Supply Chain), Finance Operations teams, and Zone Finance and Operations teams.
Requirements:
- Experience as an internal/external auditor, finance controller, or internal controller.
- Minimum 5 years of work experience.
- Environmental commitment and ESG acumen.
- Ability to work effectively in an international, multicultural environment, with strong cooperative skills in a matrix environment.
- Impactful written communication, fluent in French and English.
- Analytics skills and an appetite for information systems and KPIs.
- CSRD and Taxonomy knowledge a nice to have.
- Ability to navigate a complex corporate environment.
