About us:

Sustainability is one of the four strategic pillars of Mondelez Vision 2030 and a must win battle for the UK&I in 2026. This role leads strategy, prioritisation and planning for the UK across our pillars of packaging, ingredients and local carbon reduction. It partners across categories and functions to deliver ambitions that meet the local customer, consumer and regulatory landscape.


The Role:


In short, this is an amazing opportunity to lead, shape and grow the future of our UK sustainability agenda, taking it to the next level in 2026 & beyond.


This is a rare role where people, planet and business truly overlap. You will set the future direction, including vision and strategic direction across the whole UK business. This role takes the global pillars of sustainability, and translates for local adoption, accelerating critical pillars such as packaging and ingredients. You will partner with Brand and Customer teams to identify and unlock growth opportunities. You will ensure we’re sufficient to meet our packaging ambitions, reducing virgin plastic and driving for circularity. You will partner with our Regional Sustainability and Corporate Affairs to ensure we’re ready for regulation. You will lead the UK&I green army, including our cross-functional Sustainability Working Group and employee-led org GreenBite. Not only will you lead the agenda, but you’ll play a key role in driving pride across the org by speaking both internally, and potentially externally, about our achievements.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Drive the strategic direction to accelerate implementation in alignment with our 2030 commitments and ambitions across packaging, local carbon reduction and sustainable ingredients. 
  • Partner with Brand Teams to identify and unlock growth opportunities, focusing on Cadbury, but with roll out of swords and shields across growth brands 
  • Drive joint value creation with key Customer Teams, unlock partnership opportunities with retailers and driving our AGS score 
  • Ensure sufficiency for our Virgin Plastic Reduction pipeline, providing strategic support on lighthouse projects across all categories 
  • Ensure readiness for key regulations. This includes local leadership of our evolution in sustainable cocoa sourcing, and readiness of the EU’s PPWR (packaging). 
  • Drive pride and understanding of sustainability, focusing on sales, but broader impact across org 
  • Continue to upskill our wider organisation on sustainability 



Requirements:


  • Experience in driving / embedding sustainability within a business setting OR passion for sustainability 
  • Strong marketing experience / ability to connect the dots and provide strategic recommendations for delivering brand growth via sustainability 
  • Strategic mindset with evidence of commercial acumen and business understanding 
  • Proven track record of leading through change. Bold, brave and willingness to do things differently. 
  • Someone who is willing to contribute to our Team feeling of belonging. 
  • Strong influencing skills, including managing senior stakeholders 
  • Ability to build relationship across functions, enabling delivering of critical projects 
  • High learning agility 
  • Excellent communication, storytelling and presentation skills. 
  • Willingness to focus on their development.
