Why this role matters

Energy infrastructure is evolving rapidly, and the need for sustainable, compliant solutions has never been greater. This role directly influences the success of major energy initiatives, helping clients navigate complex regulations and move critical infrastructure forward responsibly, efficiently, and sustainably.

  • Develop business by preparing proposals and actively participating in business development and client relationship management.

Team and stakeholders

The role works with clients, regulatory agencies (e.g. FERC, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers), and stakeholders, within ERM’s consulting teams supporting energy infrastructure projects nationwide.

Key details

This is a hybrid, full-time role based in Minneapolis, MN (open to other US locations), requiring a valid driver’s license and frequent travel to client locations across a large geographical area (Requisition R00031966). The role may be eligible for discretionary bonus pay.

Requirements

  • Effective written and verbal communication, with strong organizational and analytical capabilities (technical report/documentation experience preferred).
  • Experience conducting desktop and online research across natural resource and resource planning topics.
  • Experience using GIS and interpreting mapping resources (National Wetland Inventory, USGS data, aerial photography).
  • Strong spreadsheet and database skills; detail-oriented with troubleshooting and problem-solving aptitude.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, travel as needed, work independently with limited supervision, and assess risks and make tactical/strategic decisions.
  • Valid driver’s license and/or ability to operate a company vehicle.

Preferred

  • Experience permitting energy projects (pipelines, renewable energy, electric transmission).
  • Experience with FERC processes and state siting and routing applications.
  • Familiarity with natural resource management and regulatory agencies (e.g. U.S. Army Corps of Engineers).
