Job Description

Position summary

Bunge, a global agribusiness, is hiring a Manager, Tropical Oils Sustainability in Zaandam to drive the implementation of its tropical oils sustainability strategy across Europe. Working with sourcing teams, suppliers, and industry stakeholders, the role ensures responsible, traceable, and deforestation-free palm and coconut oil supply chains.

Why this role matters

Palm and coconut oil supply chains carry significant deforestation and traceability risk, and tightening rules such as EUDR raise the stakes. Driving NDPE initiatives, supplier due diligence, and deforestation-free monitoring is what allows Bunge to meet its sustainability commitments and keep these commodities compliant and responsibly sourced.

Key responsibilities

  • Drive the sustainability strategy by implementing NDPE-related initiatives and projects across palm and coconut oil supply chains.
  • Manage supplier due diligence by reviewing, assessing, and approving suppliers and guiding sourcing teams toward compliant partners.
  • Ensure deforestation-free chains by monitoring supplier performance, investigating risks, managing engagement, and supporting grievance resolution.
  • Lead data and reporting by overseeing palm sustainability monitoring through ArcGIS, conducting spatial analyses, and preparing stakeholder-ready reports.
  • Engage stakeholders by representing Bunge at industry events (RSPO, POCG) and aligning sustainability objectives with business needs.
  • Deliver KPIs by achieving traceability, NDPE, and deforestation-free targets, supporting EUDR compliance, and completing annual NDPE IRF audits.

Team and stakeholders

The role sits within Bunge's tropical oils sustainability team and works with sourcing teams, suppliers, sustainability experts, and industry bodies such as RSPO and POCG.
