Position summary
AtkinsRéalis is seeking an experienced HSE Manager to lead and oversee health, safety, and environmental operations across diverse project sites and consultancy engagements. The role combines site-based HSE management with strategic consultancy for clients, ensuring compliance, risk mitigation, and continuous improvement across all project phases, and advising senior leadership and clients on HSE risks, regulatory changes, and mitigation strategies.

Key responsibilities
- Strategic leadership: Develop and implement comprehensive HSE strategies aligned with corporate goals and project requirements, integrate HSE into project planning and delivery, and advise senior leadership and clients on risks and regulatory changes.
- Site operations: Oversee HSE performance across multiple project sites, conduct inspections, audits, and risk assessments, monitor contractor and subcontractor compliance, and lead emergency preparedness and response planning.
- Consultancy and client engagement: Provide expert HSE consultancy including gap analysis, system development, and regulatory compliance support, facilitate client workshops and training, and prepare high-quality reports and recommendations.
- Compliance and reporting: Ensure compliance with ISO 45001, ISO 14001, and other standards, lead incident investigations and root cause analysis, maintain accurate records, and track and report HSE KPIs and trends.
- Training and development: Design and deliver HSE training for employees, contractors, and clients, promote a proactive safety culture, and mentor junior HSE staff.
Team and stakeholders
You will advise senior leadership and clients, manage contractor and subcontractor compliance, and mentor junior HSE staff, working across multidisciplinary teams and engaging internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
- ADOSH-SF Practitioners Course and NEBOSH International Diploma, IOSH Chartered Membership, or equivalent required; ISO 45001 Lead Auditor certification preferred.
- Minimum 15 years of progressive HSE experience in engineering, construction, or infrastructure.
- Proven experience managing HSE operations on large-scale, complex project sites, and demonstrated consultancy experience in client-facing HSE advisory, audits, and system implementation.
- UAE experience required.
- Deep understanding of HSE legislation, standards, and best practices; strong analytical and problem-solving skills; excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder engagement; and proficiency in HSE management systems, incident reporting tools, and risk assessment methodologies.
