Job Description

Position summary

Nexans’s Group Purchasing team is hiring a Group Purchasing Decarbonization Project Leader on a three-month fixed-term contract to support the deployment and management of its Scope 3 decarbonization roadmap. The team defines, implements, and monitors supplier risk-management processes related to Corporate Social Responsibility and responsible purchasing, covering the Group Vigilance Plan, the purchasing Scope 3 decarbonization trajectory, and the implementation of new European sustainability regulations such as CSRD and CS3D.

Why this role matters

For a cable and electrification manufacturer, purchased goods and services are a major share of the carbon footprint, so Scope 3 decarbonization in purchasing is central to Nexans’s climate goals. This role drives adoption of the tools and roadmaps that let category managers and plants cut supply-chain emissions.

Key responsibilities

  • Deploy LeverApp Group-wide by leading the rollout of the tool that collects, consolidates, and synthesizes Scope 3 decarbonization initiatives led by category managers and plants.
  • Build guidance and training by developing user guides and operating procedures and delivering presentations and training to category managers and plant stakeholders.
  • Test and stabilize the tool by identifying and documenting issues, reporting them to the development team, and following through to resolution.
  • Drive adoption by facilitating regional and corporate meetings, supporting users, and gathering feedback.
  • Ensure data quality by recording decarbonization levers in the relevant IT systems and consolidating and analyzing data to support regional and category decarbonization roadmaps.
  • Promote best practice by identifying best-performing suppliers and practices, and monitoring, refining, and updating the Purchasing Scope 3 CO2 reduction roadmap.
  • Support the team by onboarding and integrating an apprentice and contributing to other responsible purchasing initiatives.

Team and stakeholders

You will work within Group Purchasing, alongside Compliance, Sustainability, buyers, Regional CPOs worldwide, category managers, and plant stakeholders.

Key details

This is a full-time, three-month fixed-term contract based in Puteaux (Lightwell), France, with a desired start date of October 2026.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree (Bac+5) in Sustainability or Corporate Social Responsibility.
  • Good understanding of CO2 emissions calculations and Scope 3 decarbonization topics.
  • Strong interest in data analysis and dashboard design to track supplier actions and progress.
  • Detail-oriented, curious, and proactive, with strong interpersonal, communication, and knowledge-sharing skills, including the ability to coach and train a junior team member.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel; good working knowledge of Power BI and PowerPoint.
  • Fluent written and spoken English.
