Job Description
Position summary
Arcadis is recruiting a Graduate Environmental Management Consultant onto its two-year Graduate GROW Programme, supporting the transition from student to professional alongside real client work from day one. Specialising in environmental management, the graduate helps coordinate environmental assessments and provide advice across major infrastructure, urban regeneration, and community-focused projects.
Why this role matters
Major development and infrastructure projects must reduce their environmental impacts and clear rigorous assessment to gain planning consent. Training graduates to coordinate environmental assessments from feasibility through EIA is how Arcadis helps clients deliver projects responsibly while enhancing environmental performance.
Key responsibilities
- Reduce environmental impacts by helping clients lower impacts and enhance environmental performance across their projects.
- Coordinate assessments by supporting environmental assessments and providing advice for infrastructure, mixed-use, public realm, and master planning projects.
- Work across the project life cycle by contributing from feasibility studies and optioneering to Strategic Environmental Assessments and Environmental Impact Assessments.
- Own deliverables by working in consultant teams, producing deliverables, and liaising with clients.
- Support planning applications by helping prepare environmental assessments that underpin planning submissions.
Team and stakeholders
The role sits within Arcadis's integrated town planning, environmental assessment, and management service, working in teams of consultants alongside technical specialists and clients across large-scale infrastructure and development projects, with support from managers and centrally delivered cohort training.
