Description And Requirements


Lenovo is seeking a strategic, business-solutions-driven leader to serve as Executive Director, Global ESG Regulatory Compliance. This role reports to the SVP, Chief Legal Corporate Responsibility Officer and is responsible for leading Lenovo’s global ESG reporting, sustainability regulatory compliance, and product environmental compliance programs.


This role plays a critical part in enabling business growth and market access by ensuring compliance with evolving global regulatory requirements while supporting customer and investor expectations. In addition, the Executive Director oversees enterprise ISO management systems (ISO 9001, 14001, 50001) and aligns ESG and compliance programs with customer sustainability requirements, ecolabel expectations, and commercial needs.


Key responsibilities include leading global ESG disclosures (including HKEX and CSRD readiness), defining enterprise ESG strategy and commitments (including net-zero and 2030 ESG KPIs), and managing external ESG ratings and surveys (e.g., CDP, EcoVadis, MSCI). The role oversees product and environmental regulatory compliance programs and governance structures, including the Product Compliance Review Board and associated tools and processes, and leads the preparation and delivery of ESG updates and materials to executive leadership and the Board of Directors. The role also owns the systems, tools, and digital infrastructure that enable ESG reporting and regulatory compliance, including advancing automation and AI-enabled capabilities.


The Executive Director will serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, engaging regularly with executive teams on ESG performance, regulatory developments, and risk management. The role also supports investor engagement, customer ESG requirements, and external interactions with regulators and industry groups to anticipate and influence evolving standards.


This position leads a global, multi-disciplinary team spanning ESG reporting, regulatory compliance, and ISO management systems, and is responsible for building scalable processes and capabilities to manage increasing regulatory complexity.


Basic Qualifications


  •  15+ years’ experience in ESG, sustainability regulation, regulatory compliance, or related field
  •  Strong knowledge of global ESG frameworks and regulations, including HKEX, CSRD, and related regimes
  •  Demonstrated ability to translate regulatory requirements into scalable business processes and controls
  •  Experience leading complex, global compliance or reporting programs
  •  Proven ability to manage large, distributed, and specialized teams
  •  Strong cross-functional leadership and executive stakeholder engagement skills


Preferred Qualifications


  •  Experience managing product and environmental regulatory compliance programs
  •  Experience with ESG reporting, data, and compliance tools and platforms
  •  Familiarity with ISO management systems and certification processes
  •  Experience supporting investor, customer, and ESG ratings/survey requirements
  •  Experience engaging with senior leadership and contributing to executive-level governance discussions
  •  Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, and risk management skills

The base salary budgeted range for this position is $200k - 250K. Individuals may also be considered for bonus and/or commission.
