Position summary
As an Executive Director in the Climate, Nature and Social (CN&S) Risk team, you will drive the development and implementation of climate physical risk modeling strategies. Collaborating with stakeholders across risk, data, and technology teams, you will translate climate model outputs into actionable insights, support the firm's transition to a low-carbon economy and resilience to physical climate risks, lead strategic initiatives, and foster innovation in risk methodologies.

Key responsibilities
- Strategic leadership: Lead strategic initiatives within the physical risk team, coordinating with data, technology, and modeling teams.
- Execution: Drive execution by aligning stakeholders and delivering against roadmap milestones.
- Partnerships: Cultivate partnerships with internal stakeholders and collaborate with other risk teams to integrate physical risk data.
- Research and metrics: Perform research on climate-related topics and design metrics to assess financial risk.
- Climate modeling: Contribute to climate modeling initiatives, including scenario design and macroeconomic impact analysis.
- Communication: Deliver executive-ready narratives that communicate insights and recommendations.
- Mentoring: Mentor and develop junior team members, fostering innovation and continuous improvement.

You will work within Risk Management and Compliance in the Climate, Nature and Social Risk team, collaborating across risk, data, technology, and modeling teams and communicating with senior leaders.

Requirements:
- Advanced degree in engineering, physics, economics, or mathematics.
- Minimum 10 years of professional experience building and scaling climate physical risk analytics.
- Strong knowledge of climate physical risk applied to business use cases within the financial sector.
- Strong leadership skills to influence and drive cross-functional projects, with highly effective stakeholder management and the ability to influence senior leaders.
- A strategic and commercial mindset to frame problems and prioritize high-impact work.
- Excellent communication skills for conveying complex analytical outputs.
- Knowledge of climate scenario analysis and regulatory requirements in banking.
- Preferred: experience with climate physical risk modeling in finance, integrating physical risk data into business-as-usual risk models, designing metrics and models for climate and nature-related financial risk, leading macroeconomic impact analysis, mentoring teams, and understanding the transmission channels of physical risk across banking portfolios.
