Position summary
The ESG Reporting Officer will play a key role in supporting the development and implementation of Perenco's ESG framework, with a focus on robust reporting, regulatory compliance, and stakeholder engagement. Working closely with senior management and departments and business units across the group, the role monitors, tracks, and communicates progress against the company's ESG objectives and performance, ensuring consistent and effective ESG practices across the organisation.

Key responsibilities
- ESG strategy: Lead the implementation, development, and periodic review of the company's ESG strategy, priorities, and objectives, monitor progress against targets, and embed ESG considerations into business processes and decision-making.
- Reporting and data management: Oversee and coordinate the collection, validation, and consolidation of ESG data across business units, ensure its accuracy and integrity through robust controls and methodologies, and prepare internal and external sustainability reports in line with applicable frameworks and disclosure requirements.
- Assurance: Support external assurance processes for ESG disclosures by coordinating data, documentation, and responses to assurance requests.
- Regulatory compliance: Monitor developments in ESG regulations and standards including EU CSRD, assess their implications, support compliance with reporting obligations, benchmark ESG positioning against peers, and maintain ESG policies, procedures, and documentation.
- Stakeholder engagement: Coordinate responses to ESG information requests, support ESG awareness and engagement across the business, and build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Governance: Support the implementation of ESG governance frameworks and prepare clear ESG reports and presentations for senior management and governance committees, highlighting performance, progress, risks, and areas requiring attention.
Team and stakeholders
The role works closely with senior management and with departments and business units across the group, including business unit heads, governance committees, and both internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements:
- A bachelor's or master's degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Engineering, Finance, Business, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in ESG, sustainability, risk management, or corporate reporting.
- Familiarity with internationally recognised ESG reporting frameworks and standards such as GRI, ISSB, CSRD/ESRS, TCFD, or SASB.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams and cultures, with strong stakeholder and relationship-building skills.
- Excellent report writing and presentation skills, able to communicate complex ESG topics clearly to different audiences.
- Fluent in both English and French (mandatory).
