Position summary
The Senior Associate, ESG Data & Analytics is responsible for supporting the development of private markets and real assets ESG/sustainability reporting and analytic capabilities, translating requirements for technology product development, and supporting the integration of analysis into investment processes and research tools. You will use investment-level ESG data to generate key performance indicators and fund-level metrics for regulatory and voluntary reporting frameworks, and build subject matter expertise on ESG data, tools, analytics, and disclosure frameworks.

Key responsibilities
- ESG metrics: Use investment-level ESG data to generate KPIs and fund-level metrics for regulatory or voluntary reporting frameworks, and ensure a robust process for calculation, input, and review of quantitative ESG metrics.
- Technology partnership: Work with technology partners to develop requirements for calculation automations and support user acceptance testing (UAT).
- Data strategy: Work with Responsible Investing, Tech, and Investment colleagues to improve data strategy and governance.
- Client reporting: Work with RI, RFP, and client service teams to respond to bespoke and standardized ESG reporting and data requests.
- Expertise and insights: Develop subject matter expertise on ESG data, tools, sources/vendors, and disclosure frameworks, and support feedback loops such as dashboards to provide insights to investment colleagues.

You will work with Responsible Investing, technology, investment, RFP, and client service colleagues, and with data vendors and technology partners.

Requirements:
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills with high proficiency in Excel.
- Experience with ESG data and fund-level ESG metric calculations (for example carbon footprint, carbon intensity, climate risk exposures, resource usage/performance).
- Familiarity with ESG reporting frameworks (for example SFDR, EET, TCFD, GRESB, UNPRI) and ESG data sourcing and tools for private markets.
- Experience in data science, coding (Python, SQL), and/or data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau a plus.
- Strong knowledge of and interest in ESG integration, sustainable investments, and climate and nature transition.
- A solid understanding of investment concepts across asset classes and funds, a track record working across stakeholders, and strong analytical and project management skills.
