Position summary
Electrium, a Siemens company, is seeking an Environmental Advisor to join its Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Department at its Hindley Green manufacturing facility. The role embeds environmental excellence and energy efficiency across operations, ensuring robust environmental governance, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement, and contributing to the site's long-term sustainability and carbon reduction strategies.

This role keeps Electrium's manufacturing operations compliant, efficient, and improving on their environmental and energy performance. By leading ISO 14001 and ISO 50001 activities and turning performance data into insight, you help the site reduce waste, prevent pollution, and advance its carbon reduction and sustainability objectives.
Key responsibilities
- Management systems: Lead and coordinate ISO 14001 (Environmental Management Systems) and ISO 50001 (Energy Management Systems) certification activities.
- Legal compliance: Maintain environmental and energy legal registers, conduct compliance evaluations, and provide evidence records (for example WEEE, Battery, Plastic, and Packaging).
- Performance data: Collect, analyse, and report environmental and energy performance data, KPIs, and trends to inform management reviews and strategic decision-making.
- Resource efficiency: Drive initiatives for resource efficiency, waste minimisation, and pollution prevention.
- Sustainability objectives: Contribute significantly to long-term sustainability objectives and carbon reduction strategies.
Team and stakeholders
You will work within Electrium's Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Department at the Hindley Green facility, engaging stakeholders across the site and supporting management reviews and strategic decision-making.

- Work arrangement: Flexible and hybrid arrangements, based at the Hindley Green manufacturing facility, with an early finish on Fridays.

Requirements:
- In-depth understanding of Environmental and Energy Management Systems (ISO 14001 and ISO 50001).
- Knowledge of UK and applicable international environmental and energy legislation.
- Familiarity with sustainability and environmental performance metrics, KPIs, and reporting requirements.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
- Excellent organisational, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills, with high professionalism, integrity, and personal drive.
- Desirable: relevant qualifications such as a NEBOSH Environmental Diploma or ISO 14001 Lead Auditor; the ability to write and develop group and local procedures; awareness of waste management, resource efficiency, and circular economy principles; and proficiency with Power BI, Microsoft Sway, Forms, and Lists.
