Position summary
Amey, a provider of full life-cycle engineering, operations, and decarbonisation solutions, is hiring a permanent Energy Manager for its Consulting Advisory team covering Energy Transition & Sustainability. Working under the head of energy management, the role delivers technically sound energy management solutions for clients across all areas of energy management, in line with client goals and technical standards.

Key responsibilities
- Produce energy solutions by delivering technically sound energy management work that complies with technical standards and client requirements, working unsupervised and supporting colleagues across contracts.
- Prepare and check deliverables that satisfy quality, cost, and programme criteria, overseeing more junior staff and taking responsibility for their work.
- Liaise with clients and suppliers at peer level, attending progress meetings and responding to queries.
- Support work winning by contributing to the preparation of bids.
- Work on site on a visiting or temporary basis, including limited out-of-hours working when necessary.

The role sits within Amey Consulting's Energy Transition & Sustainability advisory team, reporting to the head of energy management, and works with clients, suppliers, and more junior colleagues.

Requirements
- Bachelor's or master's degree in an appropriate subject, or equivalent experience and knowledge.
- Applies energy management theory and principles to clearly understood situations.
- Takes ownership for preparing and checking deliverables, working unsupervised and supervising junior staff.
- Very good working knowledge of relevant software and analytical tools, and good commercial awareness.
- Good knowledge of contractors and services, and strong oral communication.
- Good understanding of risk assessment and of Building Management Systems (BMS), able to handle all energy data including half-hourly data.
