Job Description
Position summary
CBRE Global Workplace Solutions (GWS) is seeking an Energy Management & Sustainability Analyst for a global real estate client account spanning five regions and around 100 buildings. The role owns the client’s utilities management platform, leads energy and emissions reporting across a complex global portfolio, and provides the analytical rigour that underpins investment decisions, net-zero trajectory planning, and ESG disclosures.
Why this role matters
Environmental sustainability is a core pillar of this account, with ambitious net-zero targets and active participation in RE100, EP100, and CDP. Working at the interface of engineering, data, and strategy, the role translates operational data into insight and insight into action, influencing regional FM teams, Tier 1 vendors, and the client’s own sustainability function.
Key responsibilities
- Own energy and emissions reporting for GWS/GRE ESG disclosures, aligning with baseline and target reduction pathways and clearly differentiating metered and extrapolated data per EP100 and CDP requirements.
- Lead energy-management alignment across regional FM and Engineering teams and Tier 1 vendor partners on best practices, data collection, and reporting governance.
- Manage the utility tracking platform, maintaining data integrity and delivering performance reporting, and oversee energy-efficiency and utility-cost reduction programmes against targets.
- Lead sustainability disclosures including RE100, EP100, and CDP submissions, and oversee reporting of energy-reduction and sustainability initiatives (EIAs).
- Drive the net-zero dashboard by maintaining ongoing forecasting against the client’s net-zero commitments and headline sustainability targets, partnering with the client’s Environmental Sustainability function and external agencies (CSRD, CDP, EP100).
- Develop net-zero trajectory plans at building level, modelling decarbonisation pathways at building and portfolio level and identifying performance gaps, intervention options, and optimal sequencing.
- Advise on investment by providing portfolio-level carbon analysis and investment prioritisation to support Eco PMO business cases and capital allocation.
- Own data and technical governance as the global technical owner for energy and emissions data standards, maintaining a centralised site-list database and enforcing operational control and building classification standards, accountable for data quality across all GWS outputs.
Team and stakeholders
The role collaborates with regional FM and engineering teams, Tier 1 vendor partners, the client’s Environmental Sustainability function, and external agencies (CSRD, CDP, EP100), providing authoritative guidance to GWS and client teams.
