Job Description

Position summary

Meta is hiring an Energy Analytics Manager into its Global Energy team to help deploy the company’s global energy strategy. The role contributes to bringing online and managing a cost-competitive, clean and renewable energy-based supply portfolio that meets Meta’s strategic objectives, owning the renewable energy data portfolio and the analytics behind it.

Why this role matters

Meta’s clean energy supply underpins its data center operations and its progress toward renewable energy targets. By tracking cost, generation, availability and profitability across the renewable energy portfolio and building scalable analytical tools, this role gives the business the insight it needs to plan, budget and report on its clean energy commitments.

Key responsibilities

  • Own the renewable energy data portfolio by tracking, analysing and reporting on individual and portfolio-level project gross cost, net cost, generation, availability and profitability.
  • Create and maintain forecasts of renewable energy cost and generation using developer forecasts, project schedules and historical data to support budget and planning efforts.
  • Supply renewable energy financial information by working with Finance, Accounting and internal partners to support financial reporting.
  • Build scalable tools and processes to enhance analytical efficiency and scale the portfolio’s performance analytics.
  • Validate settlements and invoices by working with third-party vendors, utilities and renewable energy suppliers to analyse monthly settlements and ensure timely, accurate payment.
  • Coordinate portfolio reporting on renewable energy purchases, energy consumption, renewable energy credit retirement and progress toward renewable energy targets.

Team and stakeholders

The role sits within Meta’s Global Energy team and partners with Finance and Accounting, internal cross-functional partners, third-party vendors, utilities and renewable energy suppliers, responding to ad-hoc and bespoke inquiries from across the business.

Key details

  • Remote role based in the US, with six additional location options; part of Data Center Strategy.
  • Compensation: $104,000 to $155,000 per year, plus bonus, equity and benefits; individual pay set by skills, qualifications, experience and location.

Requirements

Essential

  • A Bachelor’s degree (held or in progress) in business, finance, energy or a relevant technical discipline.
  • 3+ years of experience in energy analysis, energy finance or renewable energy portfolio management.
  • Experience with renewable energy settlements, energy contract management, renewable energy tracking systems and/or invoicing.
  • Experience analysing and interpreting renewable energy cost and generation data, virtual PPAs, green tariffs and wholesale energy market data.
  • Experience building data foundations and analytical tools, working with large data sets in Excel/Google Sheets, and presenting quantitative data in PowerPoint/Google Slides.
  • Experience building cross-functional relationships.

Preferred

  • Experience working with electric utilities and renewable energy suppliers, and with Salesforce.
  • Experience creating and working with SQL and VBA, and building models for forecasting and analysing renewable energy costs and generation.
  • Experience implementing responsible, ethical AI practices and integrating AI tools to optimise workflows and drive measurable impact, with ongoing AI skill development and use of AI for transformative analytics.
