Position summary

Arcadis is hiring an EHS Junior Consultant / Consultant into its HSE Advisory team, part of its Resilience and Sustainability business. The client-facing role helps organisations across diverse sectors drive their occupational health & safety and environmental performance, delivering support on projects from large Arcadis multi-disciplinary work to smaller local clients.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver EHS support by providing occupational/workplace H&S and environmental advice across a diverse range of projects.
• Build digital solutions by supporting clients with SharePoint design, Microsoft Forms, Power Apps, and Power BI dashboarding.
• Provide competent EHS assistance as support functions, secondments, or competent-person roles into businesses or projects.
• Support transactional services by delivering occupational H&S and environmental due diligence and gap analysis.
• Deliver environmental and safety management including ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 systems, audits, inspections, accident investigations, and environmental permitting.

Team and stakeholders

The role sits in Arcadis's HSE Advisory team within the Resilience/Sustainability business, working with clients across finance, industrial, manufacturing, transport, oil and gas, infrastructure, chemical, construction, aviation, and government, with close links to transactional services.

Key details

• Based in the UK; hybrid office/home working (around 40%/60%).
• Short periods on client sites and occasional short-term international/European travel; secondment opportunities.
• Requires a clean UK driving licence.

Requirements

• Experience as an EHS Consultant, Advisor, Manager, or within a SHEQ function, advising on UK & Ireland EHS legislation and compliance.
• Proven delivery across H&S management systems (ISO 45001/HSG65), environmental management systems (ISO 14001), internal and environmental/waste audits, accident investigations, asbestos management, environmental permitting, and EHS training.
• Membership of IOSH or ISEP (ideally CMIOSH/Graduate/Tech IOSH, or ISEP Graduate/Associate with progression).
• Ideally qualified as an ISO 45001 and/or ISO 14001 Lead Auditor.
• Clean UK driving licence.
