Job Description

Position summary

Knight Frank is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Corporate ESG Reporting Manager to lead the delivery of high-quality ESG reporting and disclosures for its global real estate professional services business. The role ensures accurate, transparent, and timely reporting aligned with both voluntary ESG frameworks and emerging regulatory requirements, overseeing cross-functional data collection, corporate ESG data systems, and the integration of climate strategy and carbon reduction targets into reports and disclosures, while line managing one team member.

Why this role matters

This role gives Knight Frank the credible, compliant ESG disclosures it needs across multiple jurisdictions and evolving regulations. By leading the reporting programme, building scalable ESG data systems, and embedding climate and carbon performance into reporting, the manager ensures the firm communicates its ESG performance transparently to stakeholders and supports its global net zero strategy.

Key responsibilities

  • Disclosures: Lead the planning, development, delivery, and continuous improvement of corporate ESG disclosures across voluntary and mandatory frameworks (e.g. GRI, CDP, TCFD, ISSB/IFRS, CSRD, SECR), ensuring compliance and effective communication of ESG performance.
  • Data systems: Oversee the development and rollout of ESG data management systems, working with internal IT and partners to ensure they are fit-for-purpose and scalable.
  • Data governance: Coordinate ESG data collection across the UK and global business, validating information and ensuring robust governance, consistency, and quality across jurisdictions.
  • Carbon: Advise on carbon management and emissions reduction, embedding climate and carbon performance tracking into ESG reporting aligned with net-zero and carbon reduction goals.
  • External materials: Support the production of the Annual ESG/Sustainability Report, climate disclosures, and stakeholder communications, and act as the main point of contact for external ESG raters and platforms (CDP, EcoVadis, Sustainalytics), coordinating third-party assurance.
  • Regulatory awareness: Stay abreast of ESG regulations and real estate market expectations to advise on disclosure readiness and improvements.
  • Line management: Line manage one ESG team member, and contribute to internal ESG communications and training.

Team and stakeholders

The role reports within the Corporate ESG function, line manages one ESG team member, and works with colleagues across the UK and global business, internal IT, senior stakeholders, and external ESG raters, disclosure platforms, and assurance providers.

Key details

  • Base: UK Head Office, Baker Street, London.
  • Scope: Global real estate professional services business; supports development of the global net zero strategy aligned with science-based targets.
  • Recruitment: Direct Search led by Knight Frank; agency applications not accepted.

Requirements:

  • 5 to 7 years of experience in ESG reporting or sustainability roles, ideally in professional services or real estate.
  • Broad understanding of ESG issues relevant to a global real estate and professional services business (climate, energy and carbon, biodiversity, social impact, D&I, governance, responsible business).
  • Proven experience managing ESG disclosures aligned to key frameworks (GRI, TCFD, ISSB, CSRD, SECR).
  • Strong knowledge of carbon and energy management and climate reporting, including Scope 1 to 3 emissions, net-zero strategies, the GHG Protocol, and SBTi.
  • Experience implementing or managing ESG data platforms (e.g. Sphera, Microsoft Sustainability Manager).
  • Excellent project management, interpersonal, and communication skills, with senior-stakeholder engagement, plus people management/mentoring experience.
  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and reporting/visualisation tools (e.g. Power BI); data assurance experience an advantage.
  • Bachelor's degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Business, or related; advanced degree or ESG certification (GRI Certified, FSA Credential, CFA ESG) preferred.
