Position summary

Ramboll is hiring an Environmental Consultant for Due Diligence to join its CST Due Diligence UK & Ireland team in Manchester. The role supports fast-paced UK and global M&A transactions, identifying key EHS and ESG risks and opportunities and providing targeted, transaction-focused advice on both buy-side and sell-side due diligence.

By delivering Phase I Environmental Site Assessments and ESG reviews to tight M&A deadlines, this role turns environmental and ESG risk into decision-ready advice.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver Phase I assessments and Limited Environmental Compliance Assessments for commercial, warehouse and less complex manufacturing sites, using desk research, site visits and management calls.
• Support complex-site assessments including manufacturing facilities.
• Run ESG assessments of companies for buy-side and sell-side due diligence, interpreting data-room and public information into client reports.
• Support project management by coordinating inputs, tracking deliverables and helping meet deadlines.
• Support proposals through scope definition, fee inputs and proposal content.

Team and stakeholders

Part of Ramboll's CST Due Diligence UK & Ireland transactions team, working with in-house specialists across EHS and ESG disciplines and serving clients across industrial, commercial and infrastructure sectors, often for finance-sector clients.

Requirements

• 3 to 4 years' practical experience delivering Phase I Environmental Site Assessments, and ideally ESG assessments.
• Sound understanding of UK environmental regulations and a basic understanding of key European environmental and sustainability regulations (CSRD, CBAM).
• A degree in geosciences, natural sciences, environmental sciences or engineering, or a comparable qualification.
• Ability to understand information quickly and work efficiently, proactively and autonomously.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• A collaborative approach and willingness to travel, typically within the UK and Ireland.
