Position summary
FTI Consulting Brussels is looking for a Consultant to join its Energy & Industrials team. You will work on and be responsible for different client accounts, support senior colleagues in building new business opportunities, and provide day-to-day support of operations, across a sector team that crosses multiple issues in public affairs, corporate reputation, and ESG and sustainability.
Why this role matters
This role helps energy-sector clients navigate the EU policy and regulatory landscape and communicate effectively on the issues shaping their business. By monitoring policy developments, interpreting their commercial implications, and delivering strategic communications and public affairs support, the Consultant helps clients across the energy transition (from oil and gas to renewables) manage reputation and advocacy.
Key responsibilities
- Client delivery: Lead and organise day-to-day client work, monitor policy and regulatory developments, gather intelligence, and draft reports with in-depth analysis of policy developments and their commercial implications; provide strategic input and use AI strategically; manage projects, accounts, and events.
- Build the business: Help develop practice and wider marketing initiatives and thought leadership to position the firm, and drive client programmes forward.
- Team involvement: Work alongside senior colleagues on business development such as pitch preparation and delivery.
- Networking: Build relationships in the industry through EU contacts, stakeholders, and potential clients.
- Grow the team: Support growing the team with ideas, creativity, and drive.
Team and stakeholders
The role is part of FTI's Brussels Energy & Industrials strategic communications team, working with senior colleagues, clients, EU contacts and stakeholders, and other FTI practices (economic consulting, corporate finance, forensic litigation consulting, and technology).
Requirements:
- Experience providing strategic counsel to clients/stakeholders on public affairs and communications strategy.
- Proven skills and/or interest in public affairs, advocacy, issues, and reputation management.
- Strong research, analytical, writing, and communications skills, able to digest and summarise information for stakeholders.
- Ability to manage several projects and conflicting priorities, and to prepare purposeful meetings.
- Excellent English with one or two additional European languages preferable.
- Preferred: experience in utilities, energy users such as data centres, and/or broader energy expertise (oil and gas to renewables).
