Position summary
Skanska is seeking a Carbon Advisor to help measure, manage, and reduce carbon emissions on the Lower Thames Crossing Kent Roads Contract. Working within the project's PAS 2080-aligned Carbon Management System, you will provide carbon expertise, analysis, and stakeholder support to improve performance and help deliver Skanska's Net Zero by 2045 ambitions and National Highways' lowest practicable carbon objective.
Why this role matters
This role puts carbon management into practice on one of the UK's most significant infrastructure projects. By maintaining carbon models, validating data across the supply chain, and tracking reduction opportunities, you help the project cut its emissions and contribute directly to Skanska's net zero ambition and National Highways' carbon objectives.
Key responsibilities
- Carbon modelling: Support the Project Carbon Manager to maintain carbon models, forecasts, and reporting using eTool and Excel.
- Data management: Collect, validate, and aggregate carbon data from project teams and the supply chain in line with PAS 2080.
- Opportunities and risks: Track carbon reduction opportunities and risks, including potential savings, business cases, and mitigations.
- Supplier support: Act as a carbon contact for suppliers, supporting data submissions, reporting, and capability improvement.
- Low-carbon delivery: Support low-carbon design, materials decisions, governance, and carbon awareness across the project.
Team and stakeholders
You will work within the project team on the Lower Thames Crossing Kent Roads Contract, supporting the Project Carbon Manager and acting as a carbon contact for suppliers and project teams across the supply chain.

Requirements:
- A minimum of 1 year of experience in carbon management, sustainability, environmental consultancy, or a related field.
- Good understanding of carbon accounting and whole life carbon, including upfront stages A1 to A5.
- Experience working with carbon data and models in Excel and tools such as eTool or One Click LCA.
- Familiarity with UK construction carbon frameworks, including PAS 2080, the GHG Protocol, or similar.
- Strong communication, organisation, and analytical skills, with the ability to manage priorities and turn data into clear insights.
