Position summary


EY is seeking a Manager within its Climate Change and Sustainability Services (CCaSS) practice, focused on climate change and decarbonization and based in New York. The role solves challenging ESG and climate change problems, managing emerging risks and reducing costs by designing and implementing systems and processes across areas such as climate change, green and sustainable finance, health and safety, labor rights, nonfinancial reporting, supply chain, and environmental management. You will provide clients with strategic, technical, and reporting expertise on a wide range of climate challenges, including decarbonization, risk, emissions measurement, and reporting, while managing teams and client relationships. This posting covers multiple positions.

Key responsibilities


  • Problem solving: Solve challenging ESG and climate change problems, designing and implementing systems and processes that manage emerging risks and reduce costs across climate change, sustainable finance, health and safety, labor rights, nonfinancial reporting, supply chain, and environmental management.
  • Client expertise: Provide clients with strategic, technical, and reporting expertise on climate challenges including decarbonization, risk, emissions measurement, and reporting.
  • Strategy influence: Collaborate with partners, senior managers, and clients to influence strategy, balancing risk and client expectations, and understand each client's unique needs, ambitions, and expectations.
  • Delivery and quality: Produce high-quality deliverables, manage performance, and identify opportunities to improve products and processes while consistently delivering quality client service.
  • Insight and communication: Solve complex client problems through research and data analysis, synthesize findings into key insights to frame executive decisions, and communicate them to senior leaders.
  • Business development: Generate new business opportunities and cultivate industry networks and relationships focused on climate change and decarbonization.
  • Team leadership: Manage and motivate teams with diverse skills and backgrounds, demonstrate in-depth technical capabilities, and foster a high-performance teaming culture.


Team and stakeholders


You will collaborate with partners, senior managers, and clients to shape strategy, and manage and motivate diverse teams within EY's Climate Change and Sustainability Services practice, while maintaining long-term client relationships and networks.


Key details


  • Compensation: Base salary of $120,130 per year, plus EY's Total Rewards package.
  • Work arrangement: Hybrid, team-led and leader-enabled, with most client-serving roles working in person 40 to 60 percent of the time over an engagement, project, or year.
  • Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week (8:30 am to 5:30 pm).
  • Travel: Up to 60 percent, of which up to 10 percent may be international.
  • Work authorization: Requires the candidate to be a "United States worker" as defined by US Department of Labor regulations.

Requirements:


  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Sustainability, Accounting, Engineering, Environmental Science, Data Science, or a related field with 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate related experience; or a master's in one of these fields with 4 years of related experience.
  • 4 years of sustainability experience.
  • 3 years of combined experience across climate change megatrends, net-zero decarbonization strategies, GHG inventory plans and data management, TCFD, climate disclosures, renewable energy, Scope 3 supply chain decarbonization strategies, and carbon offsets/markets.
  • 3 years of experience researching and resolving emerging client issues, including regulations, industry practices, and new technologies.
  • 3 years of consulting experience within a large professional firm.
  • 2 years of experience with net-zero and science-based target decarbonization strategies.
  • Certification/accreditation, or sufficient coursework/experience to obtain one within a year of hire, from a recognized list (for example CPA, CFA, CFA ESG, LEED, PMP, CEM, GRI, ISSP-CSP, GARP Sustainability and Climate Risk, or SASB FSA, among others).
  • Requires travel up to 60 percent, of which up to 10 percent may be international.
