Job Description
Position summary
Anthesis, a B Corp sustainability consultancy, is seeking a senior member for its LCA Center of Excellence to combine deep technical expertise with strategic thinking, helping clients use life cycle thinking as a tool for better business and sustainability decisions. The role leads complex LCA engagements end to end and shapes innovative approaches for emerging and ambiguous contexts.
Why this role matters
As part of Anthesis’ LCA Center of Excellence, this role turns life cycle analysis into decisions that improve clients’ sustainability, circularity, and climate outcomes, while building the firm’s LCA capability and advancing new methodologies, automation, and LCA at scale.
Key responsibilities
- Lead complex LCA engagements from approach and methodology through delivery, ensuring technical rigor, robust assumptions, and alignment with relevant international standards and industry frameworks.
- Shape innovative LCA approaches for emerging and complex contexts where established methodologies may not yet provide clear answers, including new technologies, circular systems, service-based models, and evolving value chains.
- Turn analysis into insight by translating LCA results and environmental impacts into clear recommendations for C-suite executives and product, manufacturing, and sustainability leaders.
- Act as a trusted technical advisor to clients, challenging assumptions and problem framing and designing tailored approaches to their specific challenges.
- Provide technical leadership and quality assurance by reviewing models and deliverables and supporting teams using tools such as SimaPro, OpenLCA, and Excel.
- Lead and develop project teams by managing priorities, delegating, mentoring junior colleagues, and building LCA capabilities across the organization.
- Contribute to business development by engaging in client conversations, shaping proposals and RFP responses, and identifying opportunities to expand Anthesis’ LCA offering.
- Help shape the future of LCA through thought leadership and work on new methodologies, automation, LCA at scale, Product Carbon Footprinting, and sustainable product design.
- Represent Anthesis externally at conferences, industry events, and other forums.
Team and stakeholders
The role sits within Anthesis’ LCA Center of Excellence, leading and mentoring project teams and junior colleagues, working alongside sustainability Subject Matter Experts, and engaging directly with client C-suite, product, manufacturing, and sustainability leaders.

- Demonstrated ability to apply LCA to complex or emerging contexts, including circular systems, new technologies, service-based systems, or evolving value chains.
- Strong understanding of how system boundaries, feedstocks, data quality, assumptions, and methodological choices influence LCA outcomes and decision-making.
- Ability to work confidently with incomplete or imperfect information, using sound technical judgment to develop defensible approaches.
- Strong client-facing and communication skills, able to make complex technical topics accessible to technical and executive audiences.
