Position summary
S&P Global is hiring an Associate Account Manager - Sustainability within its Sustainable1 Commercial team, based ideally in London (or Amsterdam), covering key accounts across Continental Europe. The role spans renewal and new business (greenfield) sales across the full Sustainable1 product suite, from Trucost Environmental and Physical Risk to Nature & Biodiversity, Climanomics and Capital IQ Pro ESG.
Why this role matters
The Commercial team drives revenue growth while helping clients strengthen their climate and sustainability initiatives. This role deepens client relationships across the DACH, CEE, Baltic and Central Asia regions, turning S&P's sustainability data and analytics into measurable value for clients.
Key responsibilities
- Manage key accounts to drive revenue retention and growth across the assigned sustainability portfolio.
- Build account plans aligned with client priorities and the Sustainable1 product suite.
- Pursue cross-sell and upsell opportunities across the client base.
- Expand relationships with new personas within client organisations, working with new business sales specialists.
- Advise clients by presenting insights that enhance sustainability initiatives and optimise product usage.
- Represent Sustainable1 at industry events, webinars, roundtables and conferences.
Team and stakeholders
Sits within the Sustainable1 Commercial team, partnering with new business sales specialists and other internal teams, and engaging clients across Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Czechia, Poland, the Baltic states, the Caucasus and Central Asia.
Key details
- Ideally based at 25 Ropemaker Street, London, with responsibility for Continental European accounts.
- Requires willingness to travel across Europe for client meetings and industry events.
Requirements
Essential
- Around 2+ years of relevant experience in ESG and sustainability solutions, customer support, sales or relationship management in B2B environments.
- Proven track record of achieving revenue targets or managing complex client relationships and delivery projects.
- Strong understanding of sustainability frameworks and ESG principles (EBA requirements, CSRD, SFDR, CSDDD, ISSB) with the ability to translate technical concepts into business value.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, including client meetings, product demos and strategic planning.
- Strong working knowledge of CRM and prospecting tools (Salesforce, HubSpot, ZoomInfo, Salesloft); familiarity with AI agents preferred.
- Willingness to travel across Europe.
Preferred
- Knowledge of client workflows in the banking and insurance industries.
- Professional certifications in sustainability or ESG (CFA ESG, UNEP FI).
- Fluency in English; German, Russian or Polish a plus (not mandatory).
