About The Role

The CBRE Energy and Renewables team is seeking an Analyst to support our growing advisory practice across energy procurement, renewable energy transactions, and distributed generation. This role combines analytical rigor with strategic support to deliver sophisticated advisory services to corporate clients and renewable energy stakeholders. We are looking for a detail-oriented professional with strong quantitative skills who can thrive within a dynamic, start-up culture that values innovation and agility.

You will work alongside senior practitioners to support client engagements, conduct market research, develop financial analyses, and prepare client deliverables across our diverse service offerings. This position offers significant exposure to senior leadership and the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to high-impact projects in the rapidly evolving energy sector.

What You’ll Do

  • Financial and Data Analysis: Conduct quantitative analysis to support client engagements, including energy market assessments, pricing evaluations, contract comparisons, and project economics; develop data-driven insights to inform client recommendations and strategic decision-making.
  • Market Research and Intelligence: Research energy markets, regulatory developments, incentive programs, commodity pricing trends, and industry dynamics; synthesize findings into clear, actionable insights for internal teams and client presentations.
  • Client Deliverable Preparation: Create high-quality presentations, reports, and briefing materials for client meetings and proposals; translate complex energy concepts into accessible, business-relevant content for diverse audiences.
  • Transaction and Engagement Support: Assist in supporting renewable energy transactions and advisory engagements, including virtual and physical power purchase agreements (VPPAs/PPAs), community solar, distributed generation, and energy procurement; coordinate deliverables and maintain organized documentation throughout engagements.
  • Energy Procurement Analysis: Support energy procurement activities by analyzing utility tariffs, rate structures, and supplier proposals; assist in developing energy budgets, forecasting analyses, and strategic sourcing recommendations.
  • Project Coordination: Track project timelines, manage deliverables, and coordinate across multiple stakeholders to ensure seamless execution of client engagements; proactively identify and resolve potential roadblocks.
  • Database and Information Management: Maintain organized databases and tracking systems for projects, market data, and partnership opportunities; ensure accurate record-keeping and data integrity across team initiatives.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with business development, technical specialists, and senior advisors to support integrated client solutions; contribute analytical expertise across the team's service offerings.

What You’ll Need

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Environmental Studies, or related field.
  • 1-3 years of experience in energy markets, consulting, financial analysis, or related fields.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data manipulation, analysis using pivot tables, complex formulas, and visualization.
  • Strong analytical mindset with exceptional attention to detail and ability to synthesize complex information.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and Word for creating client-ready deliverables.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-directed work style with ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Interest in or knowledge of energy markets, renewable energy, or sustainability preferred.
