Position summary
Ramboll is hiring an Air Quality Managing Consultant in North Sydney to provide technical leadership and project delivery within its Air and Climate Service Line. The role focuses on complex air dispersion modelling, air quality impact assessment, client advisory, project management, and mentoring, contributing to a growing national air quality practice while collaborating across Australian and global teams.

Key responsibilities
- Provide technical leadership by leading complex air dispersion modelling and impact assessment projects using models such as AERMOD, CALPUFF, CALMET, GRAL/GRAMM, TAPM, and WRF.
- Manage projects by controlling scope, schedule, budget, resources, and quality for on-time, on-budget delivery, and supervising project teams.
- Review and assure quality by providing senior QA/QC and technical oversight of modelling, emissions inventories, and technical reports.
- Engage clients and regulators by acting as a trusted advisor through the project lifecycle and leading technical discussions with approval authorities.
- Mentor staff by providing technical guidance, training, and career development to junior to mid-level air quality staff.
- Support business development by contributing to proposals, developing scopes of work, and driving digital and cross-region innovation.

The role sits in Ramboll's Australian Air and Climate Service Line as a Managing Consultant in the Air Quality Team, reporting to the National Air and Climate Practice Lead, and collaborating with Australian, APAC, and global colleagues, clients, and regulators.

Requirements
- Bachelor's or postgraduate degree in Environmental Science, Chemistry, Environmental or Chemical Engineering, or related field, with a minimum 10 years in air dispersion modelling and impact assessment.
- Proficiency in modelling software such as AERMET, AERMOD, CALMET, CALPUFF, GRAMM, GRAL, TAPM, and WRF.
- Experience developing air, odour, and GHG emissions inventories across industry sectors.
- Strong report writing, including Air Quality Impact Assessments, monitoring reports, and management plans.
- Experienced project management and direct client engagement; business development and people management/mentoring highly desirable.
- Certified Air Quality Professional (CAQP) with CASANZ preferred; GIS (ArcGIS Pro, Surfer), programming (R, Python), and Power BI highly desirable.
