Position summary


Bloomberg is hiring an Accounting Analyst for its ESG Controllership team within the Chief Accounting Office in New York. The role focuses on evolving ESG disclosure requirements and the internal and external reporting of them, blending internal controls with ESG regulatory principles alongside the Sustainability teams and stakeholders across the organisation.

The Chief Accounting Office safeguards the integrity of Bloomberg's financial statements and internal control over financial reporting. As ESG disclosure requirements evolve, this role ensures those disclosures are robust, controlled and compliant, keeping Bloomberg ahead of new regulatory and customer-driven expectations.


Key responsibilities


  • Track ESG regulations by building and maintaining an understanding of ESG principles and evolving regulatory rulemaking and frameworks.
  • Maintain disclosure policies including standardised external-reporting policies, disclosure controls and procedures.
  • Verify external reporting for completeness, accuracy and regulatory compliance, and manage regulatory filings with stakeholders.
  • Establish controls with cross-functional teams and perform data quality verification and internal-control execution.
  • Enhance reporting systems with Finance Systems and business partners across platforms.
  • Support audit and leadership by liaising with external auditors and drafting leadership updates on status and key issues.

Part of the ESG Controllership team within the Chief Accounting Office, partnering with Sustainability teams, Finance Systems, business partners and external auditors.

  • Salary range $85,000 to $120,000 plus benefits and bonus.

Requirements


Essential


  • Minimum 4 years of accounting and internal controls experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or a related discipline.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills (PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Flexibility in a fast-paced, evolving environment, with strong organisation, communication and prioritisation skills across multiple stakeholders.


Preferred


  • Understanding of and interest in global evolving ESG regulations.
  • Experience in public accounting.
  • Familiarity with sustainability reporting systems and their implementation.
  • CPA (or equivalent), or working towards one.
